DESCRIPTION
This quiet peaceful cabin is made for nature lovers. It is charming and
cozy with spectacular views of jet ski free Horseshoe Pond and marsh and lots of
natural light. There is a new pine floor in much of the downstairs, along
with a carpeted living room.
You can put the camp canoe into the pond and paddle for miles into the
magical Deer River Flow – with its gorgeous mountain views, birds galore, beaver
and otter. A small brook runs by the house and through the marsh to the pond.
The fishing is excellent at this quiet, private camp.
Our cabin is nicely furnished and includes a few beautiful local handcrafted
pieces. There is a large master bedroom loft with queen bed; second bedroom
with a double bed; living room with pull out couch, full kitchen and bath,
and outdoor stone fireplace. The living room has giant picture windows, and
you can sit on the comfy couch and read or watch the light constantly changing
on the pond. There is a very special bathroom with a unique sink
pedestal made from an old tree trunk.
You are only
five minutes from Meacham Lake with its stunning beach and
mountain views; 10 minutes from Mt. Titus ski area; 20 minutes from the Adirondack
Park Visitor Center, with miles of beautiful hikes and trails along bogs and
ponds and with the mountains in the background, 30 minutes from Saranac Lake,
a charming mountain town; 20 minutes from Paul Smith's College of the
Adirondacks; 45 minutes from Lake Placid and an hour from endless awesome hiking in
the High Peaks and paddling in the Saranac Lake region. If you need groceries
or other supplies, you are only 15 minutes from Malone, where there is
excellent and convenient shopping.
The camp also has VCR and DVD, CD player, and washer dryer. More pictures
are available on request. If you fly in, Montreal is less than 2 hours away,
Burlington is about 3 hours, and Albany about 3 ½ hours. There is also a
small airport near Lake Placid and one in Plattsburgh, less that an hour and a
half away.
