DESCRIPTION
The Ramblewood is a beautiful, authentic Adirondack Summer House available for year round use. Located just four miles from exit 25 of the Adirondack Northway Interstate 87. The kitchen is open with plenty of space for socializing while you cook. The kitchen is well equipped; it's as easy to feed 2 as 20. The downstairs rooms are open and spacious. Cool in summer, and with the help of the two fireplaces warm and cozy in the winter. The three porches assure that even if the weather is less than perfect one can get outside to breathe the fresh mountain air. The six bedrooms are bright and inviting. The Ramblewood sleeps 16 comfortably. 

Located just two miles from Chestertown you will have use of Loon Lake. A 584-acre lake over two miles long. Our beach in Chestershores is less than 1/8th of a mile from the house. Easy access whether you walk or drive. The Ramblewood keeps a canoe and rowboat on this beach for your use. There is a swimming raft as well as a dock to fish from. Less than 1/4-mile from the house is the Loon Lake Public Beach, not overly crowded with the added assurance of a life guard. There is an easy, free, boat launch a 1/2-mile from the house. Loon Lake welcomes your power boat and jet ski. You are free to enjoy the woods and fields of the Ramblewood. Perfect for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or just sitting at the crest in the solitude. The driveway is great for kids on bikes, will easily accommodate parking for several cars, boats, and trailers. There is a pond for catching frogs or skating depending on the season. Roast marshmallows in the outdoor firepit, and gaze at the stars. 

Dynamite Hill, Chestertown's free recreation site, offers a rope tow, sledding hill, a warming cabin, and a skating rink. A wonderful place to teach kids to ski. 

The Adirondacks offer year round fun and adventure. There is mountain biking, whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, and golfing (Adirondack.com). There is a horseback riding stable less than 1/4 mile away. Antique shops abound in the area. Golf at Green Mansions, or Cronin's Golf and Country Club, both located minutes from the Ramblewood. Lake George is 20 minutes away with shopping, outlet stores, boating, cruise boats, night life, and The Great Escape & Splash Water Kingdom, a six flags theme park. (lakegeorge.com) Warrensburg 12 miles away is home to the worlds largest garage sale. Historic Saratoga Springs is 40 minutes away where you can enjoy concerts at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. The finest world class Thoroughbred racing is located at Saratoga Race Track, and year round excitement of over 1,300 video gaming machines at the Saratoga Racino/Flat Track. (saratoga.com) Gore Mountain, 15 minutes away, offers some of this country's finest snow skiing, with 68 alpine trails including 9 glades as well as 12 snowshoeing/cross-country trails. In the summer months Gore's trails are open for mountain biking. In the fall, ride the gondola to view spectacular foliage. Lake Placid is not far away, and the home of the 1980 Winter Olympic Games. The Ramblewood is located within a one-hour drive of the Adirondack High Peaks Region. Learn the history of the Adirondack Mountains at the Adirondack Museum located in the town of Blue Mountain Lake. The Museum was once The Blue Mountain House; one of the original Adirondack Summer Hotels and the home of the Merwin's, our mother's family.

The Ramblewood is reasonably priced and is looking for repeat business and word of mouth referrals for new guests. A family friendly retreat, perfect for a reunion or a small group gathering. There is something for everyone, including those that would rather sit at home and read a book.
