DESCRIPTION
The Severance House is approximately two miles from the entrance to Gore Mountain Ski Area and less than 30 minutes from many of the resorts, beaches and town of Lake George. This historic Adirondack home sits on 95 acres of woodlands and open fields. The Severance House offers easy access to hiking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing by simply stepping out the back door. Additionally, the location of the Severance House provides convenient access to endless recreational opportunities (hiking, skiing, biking, swimming, rafting, canoeing, kayaking, motor boating, etc) within the Southern Adirondacks.

There are four bedrooms in the Severance House, all of which are located on the second floor. Each bedroom has been carefully arranged to provide the comforts of home with plenty of drawer and closet space. Bedroom one has an antique iron bed that will accommodate one person. Bedroom two has a king size bed, bedroom three has a queen size bed, and bedroom four has a trundle bed that will sleep two. The queen sofa sleeper in the living room will provide additional sleeping accommodations. Bedrooms two, three and the family room each have an air conditioner.

There are two full baths in the Severance, one is on the second floor and the other is on the first floor adjacent to the family room. The over sized second floor bathroom has a tub-shower, marble accents and a tile floor. The bathroom on the first floor has a tiled shower and Jacuzzi jetted whirlpool tub- ideal after a long day on the slopes!

The living room is an Adirondack masterpiece. The stone fireplace found in this room is eight feet in width and is bordered by two 24-foot beams that run the length of the living room. The room is furnished with a TV, VCR, DVD player, and a stereo system that includes an AM/FM radio, cassette recorder, and CD player. This room will surely provide a warm and cozy atmosphere on those chilly Adirondack winter evenings.

There is an open feel to this home as you walk from the living room to the dining room and on to the classic knotty pine kitchen. Guests can easily enjoy a family meal at the large oak dining room table (seats 10 comfortably) or simply pull up a stool to the island bar that sits between the dining room and kitchen. The kitchen has a gas stovetop and is well stocked with many cooking pans, dishes, glassware, and utensils as well as a microwave, toaster oven, crock-pot, cappuccino machine, and coffee grinder.

Off the kitchen is the family room. This is a favorite spot for adults and kids alike. There is a brick fireplace in this room as well as an inviting bar for those après ski evenings. The room is furnished with a 42-inch wide screen TV, DVD player and board games. The large bay window affords a beautiful view of the surrounding acreage, ideal for sledding and snowshoeing. There are sleds and snowshoes available for use by our guests. As you step out the back door from the family room, you will find an inviting brick patio complete with a gas grill, a large picnic table, and a stone fireplace that is perfect for those cool summer and fall evenings.

The Severance House is a historic home that has been recognized by the North Creek Historic Society. Its close proximity to Gore Mountain Ski Area, Garnet Hill Cross Country Ski Area, Loon Lake, Lake George, and the Hudson River make it a perfect year round vacation spot. This home is a welcoming retreat for all outdoor enthusiasts and serves as a perfect getaway for those who simply enjoy the quiet and solitude of the Southern Adirondacks.
