| Muskrat Cove is a lovely, four bedroom camp on Lake Champlain just five minutes from the historic village of Chazy, New York. Located approximately 1,000 feet off Lake Shore Road, at the southern end of Trombley Bay, the camp is very quiet, peaceful and private. The large back lawn is great for Frisbee, croquet (set on site), etc. The camp sleeps eight comfortably, ten with fold out couch in living room.
Muskrat Cove is one hour from Montreal, two and one-half hours from Albany, four and one-half hours from Boston and just a little over five hours from New York City. The city of Plattsburgh is twenty minutes south. The camp, built in the early 1940's, has three bedrooms and a full bathroom on the second floor. The first floor has the forth bedroom and a 1and 3/4 bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a new electric range and microwave. The comfortable living room has a beautiful fieldstone fireplace with a 30,000 BTU gas insert for extra heat, if needed (a big plus for early and late season fishermen). The dining room/sitting room looks out over the lake with a beautiful view of Isle La Mont. There is also an upper deck, accessed through the master bedroom, with the same beautiful view. A great place for coffee in the morning, watching the sun rise, private sunbathing or cocktails in the evening. There is up to 55 feet of dock depending on water level. Moorings are available for sailboats or larger boats. The use of a 17' canoe and a 14' aluminum rowboat is included in the rental cost. A 14' aluminum boat with a 15 HP tiller drive outboard is available. Muskrat Cove is located right in the middle of some of the best smallmouth and largemouth bass fishing on the New York side of Lake Champlain. Also the northern pike fishing is fantastic, especially in the spring and fall. There are two boat launches 15 minutes from the camp. To the north is the State launch at the mouth of the Great Chazy River and to the south the State boat launch at Pt Au Roche. Pt Au Roche State Park is just ten minutes south with hiking and biking trails, picnic area and beautiful St Armands Beach. If you have any questions feel free to call anytime. |
