DESCRIPTION
The Property

McGuire's Hideaway, nestled in the Southern Adirondacks, surrounded by towering Pines with a clear view of lush mountains and 145' on a Private Lake, it is a great spot for families. We have a beautiful location that was previously the main lodge of the Northwood's Dude Ranch. Through the years this building has been many things but now has been returned back to a vacation rental. The entire upstairs is the vacation rental. The lower level is an owners unit. The two spaces are completely separate, have separate entrances and there is no access to each other.

The rental has five bedrooms including, three with queen beds (two overlooking the lake), one with a double bed, one small bedroom with a twin bed and a bonus walkthrough room with two twin beds. Plus one couch that fold down. Two bathrooms, one with shower/bathtub, one with a shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, stove/oven, toaster oven, coffee maker. The kitchen seats six and the adjoining dining room (with new Pergo floors) seats six. We put new Berber carpeting in the living room area which boasts a beautiful picture window overlooking the lake as well as a TV with premium cable. Air conditioning window units are available throughout unit.

On our lake, there are two beaches to Swim from (our private one is shallower while Private Association one has floating swim out dock, and is deeper), you can rent kayak/canoes within walking distance. Fish (loaded with bass, others) An outdoor fireplace down at the lake provides a great spot for marshmallow roasts. If you enjoy stargazing....The most magical moments here we have found watching the full moon rise over the mountains and reflecting on the lake. Hiking trails on 700 acres of private association property are available to you as our guest.

Local Attractions

There is an amazing array of Free Family Entertainment Every week in Lake Luzerne and other places close by...notably the free summer outdoor concerts and Fireworks over Lake George every Thursday in the Summer.

Within a one mile radius we have outfitters where you can go tubing, rent a canoe or kayak used on our private lake or on one of many nearby lakes as well as whitewater rafting outfitters and three horseback riding stables. Trail Pass access is one mile down the road for ATV's. Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom Theme Park is approximately 8 miles away. The Painted Pony rodeo is 'A mile down the road which offers weekly rodeos and fun family entertainment not to be missed, visitadirondacks.com has a wonderful website with a planning tool to help you plan your trip. Many links to area attractions within a ten mile radius including nature trails, bike trails, mini-golf, as well as traditional golf courses, historic sites like Fort William Henry, Prospect Mountain with the 100 mile view that overlooks Lake George. Lake George village is five miles down the road with boating, cruises, carriage rides, nightclubs, arcades and shopping, batting cages, and Historic Fort William Henry. The million dollar Mile filled with outlet shops, roller skating, bumper cars. Many, Many free activities abound during the summer including outdoor concerts, Thursday night fireworks over Lake George, outdoor magic shows weekly.

Saratoga Springs is 1/2 hour south with many activities including the Saratoga racetrack. The options are too numerous to mention. Our location is centrally located to all these activities while being situated on a private lake 1/4 mile off state Rt. 9, and five miles off exit 21 of I-87 the Northway.

The rules/rates

Check in time is 4pm Saturday; Check out time is 10 am Saturday. Upon reserving rental a 50% deposit is required to reserve your date. Upon arrival remainder is due in full. The deposit is non refundable however if you are unable to make your trip due to an emergency we will do everything we can to re-rent the property, if we can re-rent it we will refund your deposit. We provide basic linens, sheets pillows and blankets. We do not provide paper products such as paper towels, toilet paper, tissues etc. Bring your own dish soap, hand soaps etc., bath towels and beach towels.
