| Meadow Cottage is a wonderful, year-'round retreat on our private 20-acre Adirondack farm. It's situated at the edge of wide fields and woods, with beautiful mountains forming a dramatic backdrop. The cottage is homey, sparkling clean, attractively decorated, and well-equipped for easy, convenient housekeeping. Furnishings are comfortable and attractive, the rooms airy and bright; and the two big walls of windows in the living room seem to bring the wide meadow and beautifully pastoral Adirondack scene beyond right inside.
The pretty, comfortable bedroom features hand-made oak furniture with a Scandinavian feeling. There is a well-equipped, eat-in kitchen, a large bedroom with custom-made oak furniture, and a bath with Jacuzzi. Bedroom and living room have wall-to-wall carpeting, and there are many other nice extras throughout, including an excellent stereo system with compact disc player. In addition to the bedroom's double bed , a second full-size bed in the living room becomes a daytime lounge area when its many decorator pillows are added. All bed, bath, and kitchen linens are furnished for your stay. The cottage has its own private picnic area with charcoal grill in summer, and you'll find plenty of room to roam on our many acres of meadows and forest trails. The broad, open field outside the cottage provides a wonderful place to fly a kite on a windy day or just lie on a blanket on a clear, dark night to peacefully stargaze or watch the moon slowly traverse our great expanse of sky. Our other guest facility, Vista Cottage, is occasionally available for rental, when not in use by our own visiting family. It also is extremely comfortable and features big window walls looking out on splendid mountain views; lovely furnishings; a Queen-size bed, and a Jacuzzi bathtub. Occupancy is always limited to two. We're located just five miles from Whiteface Mountain and the West Branch of the beautiful Au Sable River, near many lakes and streams. Ours is a popular area for bicycling, hiking, climbing, and swimming; and several horseback-riding stables are also located nearby. The world-famous Olympic Ski Center at Whiteface Mt. is only seven miles away; and beyond that, Lake Placid is just a short, beautiful drive farther. This is the international mecca for winter sports enthusiasts of every kind; and spectators as well as participants find exactly what they seek in top-quality bobsledding, luge, ski-jumping, Nordic ski racing, snowshoeing, ice-skating, hockey, or other snow sports all winter long. But, if you happen to prefer the great indoors, you'll find excellent stores, arts and craft shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues throughout the entire region, too. Among the farm's numerous amenities, many of our guests seem to enjoy Barney and Frankie, our two pet goats, the most. They are our daily hiking companions, who are always delighted to have visitors stop over at their fence to say hello -- or better still, to join us in a walk through our woods trails. | Cleaning Policy: | You will find your cottage to be neat and clean, with fresh bed and bath linens in place. Because you are responsible for your own housekeeping during your stay, you will find the cottage well supplied with the equipment needed, including a vacuum cleaner. We ask only that you leave the cottage in the same excellent condition as you find it and that you respect the simple posted directions for garbage and recycling removal. |
| Linen Policy: | Bed and bath linens are provided for your stay, and will be replaced with freshly laundered items as you use them. |
| Security Deposit Information: | TO RESERVE: We need your full name, address, phone number, and email upon request to reserve. A deposit of one night's stay sent is then required to be promptly mailed to us. When your deposit arrives, we send you a receipt, directions to the farm, and a few notes about how your cottage is equipped.
Balance of the full amount for your stay is due on or before your arrival. Reservations involving any period of days during the week before and/or the week after the IronMan Triathlon weekend require an additional deposit no later than thirty days prior to your arrival date, and all deposits for this time period are non-refundable. |

Rates: $675 per week for two plus $20 per night for each additional person. Children UNDER 15 are free. (Rates for Ironman Triathlon and special mid-year Holiday periods are $775 per week for two plus $35 per night for each additional person.) Nightly rates (2-night minimum) sometimes available. All stays of less than seven nights are subject to NYS Sales Tax and Essex County Bed Tax. |
