Description:
This year-round log home is private and secluded on 45 wooded acres. Located in the Ausable River Valley of the High Peaks region, it is minutes away from Whiteface Mountain, Lake Placid and many High Peaks, Sentinel Range, Giant Mountain and Jay Mountain wilderness area trailheads.

With its natural log walls and Adirondack rustic decor, the house is cozy and comfortable. Its two bedrooms and loft sleep up to six. The great room features a large fireplace, vaulted ceilings and rustic chandeliers. The house is fully furnished with washer/dryer and most other amenities.

Set in a wildflower meadow, the home provides beautiful mountain views. The large porch, living room and master bedroom feature views of Ebenezer Mountain. The property has trails and a beaver pond and is bounded on the west by the Ausable River (over 1000 feet of river frontage). The property even includes a very small island on the Ausable River .

The library is stocked with more than 200 books including area and nature guides, childrens books, classic literature and sport-specific topics (e.g. hiking, backpacking, canoeing, fishing, skiing, etc.). It also includes information on area attractions, detailed backcountry maps, restaurant menus and reviews, and back issues of magazines of local interest (e.g. Adirondack Life and Adirondack Explorer).

Hike, fly-fish, kayak, ski, cross-country ski, or just enjoy nature from an Adirondack chair. Vermont and Montreal are easy day trips. The Essex ferry to Vermont is less than 45 minutes away. And it is only a two hour drive from Hemlock Lodge to downtown Montreal.
