| Sitting on the water's edge of beautiful Lake Clear, you'll find this private get-away for two. The cabin has everything you'll need for your stay in the Adirondacks - newly renovated living room and kitchen space, with a virtual wall of windows facing the lake, and a fully renovated cozy and comfortable bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with a microwave oven, gas stove and range, refrigerator, dishes, cookware, silver and glassware, and other small appliances. The living room has a fireplace, stereo, and recent renovations include new walls, carpeting and a beautiful cedar ceiling with fan. The bedroom also has new walls, ceiling with fan and carpeting, and features a king-sized bed, linens, a variety of books to browse through, and television for watching movies. There is no telephone at the cabin - you'll find peace and quiet!
The large mounted map in the main room of the cabin helps you plan your hikes and paddles, for the cabin sits amid some of the best canoe waters and hiking trails of the Adirondacks, located near Floodwood Reserve and Mountain, and close to the St. Regis Canoe Area. Visit the nearby Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) in Paul Smiths, hike up St. Regis Mountain, or venture out on to Lake Clear itself to fish or check out the wildlife. You'll find loons, great blue herons, merganzers and other water birds. Fishing includes bass and pike, even caught from the cabin's dock. There are chairs to relax in by the water, or sit on the cabin's deck and take in the view - we provide the binoculars. The main focal point is the ever-changing lake with beautiful St. Regis Mountain and its fire tower in the distance. There is an outdoor fire pit for campfires, and a charcoal grill for cookouts. There's plenty of wood for the fireplace, and a dock with a canoe and life preservers. Bring your favorite music for the stereo (CDs or cassettes) or tune into local and national radio. There are hiking guides at the cabin, along with restaurant and event guides. Whether it's relaxing and catching up on your reading, watching the beautiful lake, sunsets and surrounding forests, exploring nearby Lake Placid and the Olympic High Peaks, antiquing, visiting local shops, or just listening to the haunting call of the loons, this cabin is a great place to venture out from - or just stay put! Catch a play at the local Pendragon Theater, known for its performances, or listen to some live music, presented in Saranac Lake every Thursday and Friday evenings in the summers. There's also the Lake Placid Center for the Arts and all of the 1932 & 1980 Olympic venues. You'll find gift and craft shops, famer's markets, galleries, antiques stores, plenty of restaurants and some of the best golf in the northeast. Easy to find, wonderful to enjoy and perfect for doing as little or as much as you want, try our cabin on Lake Clear. Rentals run Saturday to Saturday for July and August, and the cabin is available for rent from May to October. Linens and towels are provided; please no smoking inside, and for our allergy-sensitive guests, no pets are allowed. |
