| This charming log cabin is located in the High Peaks of the Adirondack Park on the West Branch of the Au Sable River in the Town of Jay. Sugar Mt. Cabin (11 Cascade Lane) is secluded and surrounded by woods on a three-acre lot. Sleep well at night listening to the rapids of the river and the crackling of the woodstove. This rustic cabin is only 20 minutes from Whiteface Mountain and 25 minutes to Lake Placid. The cabin has a bedroom with a queen-size bed. There is also a large loft with a double bed as well as two single beds. It sleeps six comfortably. There are two full bathrooms, one with a two-person Jacuzzi. The living room features a wood-burning stove with plenty of dry firewood stacked outside. The kitchen has all the necessary appliances and utensils including a dishwasher and coffeemaker. Pets are welcome.
A covered porch runs along the front of the cabin. A picnic table and grill are located in the spacious secluded yard. There are woods in the back, which overlook the famous Au Sable River. Enjoy private river access to numerous paths and trails with Adirondack chairs and benches located to offer spectacular views of the river and Wilmington Mountain Range. If Sugar Mt Cabin is booked, its sister cabin, BROKEN ARROW LODGE (46 Muskrat Rd), may be available. These cabins are identical and each is located on their own three-acre wooded lot. Private river access is a two-minute walk through the woods from Broken Arrow Lodge. If both cabins are booked, it will be indicated on the availabililty calendar. Fishermen: You are staying on one of the best trout-fishing rivers in the East. For the beginner or advanced fisherman, we highly recommend the services of NY Licensed Guide Rich Garfield flyfishtheadirondacks.com who is an expert regarding the intricacies of the river around the cabin as well as other lakes and rivers in the area. Drop him a line (pun intended) for some friendly tips on fishing the area. During the summer months please use our mountain bikes to peddle to the scenic lake located a couple of miles from the cabin. In the colder weather borrow our snowshoes to hike the nearby trails. The cabins are a short drive to the Olympic Village of Lake Placid. Golfing, hiking trails and other recreation can be found all around the area. If it should rain one day we suggest you visit cosmopolitan Montreal, which is two hours from Sugar Mt. You will find plenty of information and maps of the area when you arrive at the cabin. Do you have more than six people? Little Wing Log Cabin is located near the main cabins and has a queen size bed. Only $35 per nite. Available May to October. Cross Country Skiiers and Snow Shoers: There are miles of trails a short distance from the cabin as well as the 50K groomed trails of the spectacular Olympic Sports Complex. SKI n STAY SPECIAL: Stay any two winter nights for $300 or three nites for $400 and receive two lift tickets to Whiteface Mountain. Excluding Holidays.
