The dining room with a large oak table is directly off the kitchen. There is a huge basement with a garage door for your snowmobiles during the winter and a walk-in area to come off from the beach during the summer. Ample closet space throughout. Property is well-maintained with all amenities of home.
It is a nice one mile walk into The Village of Speculator where there is a public beach, playground, baseball field, basketball and tennis courts, casual and fine dining. A golf course is one mile away in Lake Pleasant. Within a short walking distance from the house there is access to the lake where you may swim and enjoy the lakeshore. There are also gift shops, antique shops, general store, bank, post office, and a grocery store in town. Lake Pleasant Marine is one mile away and rents canoes, kayaks, and boats. Camp of the Woods, a Christian Family Resort and Conference Center, is only two miles away. This is a great home to spend your vacation. The summer days are warm and the nights cool down with a dark, beautiful sky full of stars that you wouldn't see elsewhere. The fall season is a beautiful time to enjoy the colors. There is hiking, fishing, snowmobiling, downhill, and cross country skiing. There are numerous cross country ski and snowmobile trails which can be directly accessed. Maps are provided for you. Speculator is two hours from Lake Placid, an hour from Lake George, and about 90 minutes from Saratoga where you can enjoy the world famous racetracks and Performing Arts Center. There are also day trips you can take to go antique shopping. Speculator is one hour north of Amsterdam on Route 30 and one hour east of Utica on Route 8. Maximum number allowed is 10, families only. | Cleaning Policy: | We utilize a cleaning service between rentals, which is included in our rental rates (no extra charge). Prior to departure, we expect renters to empty the refrigerator and trashcans, strip beds, leave used linens on the beds, wash all dishes (or run dishwasher), leave furniture and amenities where they were found upon arrival, and otherwise leave the place tidy, organized and ready for our cleaning service to get to work. A detailed departure checklist is posted at the house. |
| Linen Policy: | We do supply sheets (no towels) - we ask that bed linens be removed and left at the end of the bed upon departure. |
| Security Deposit Information: | A security deposit is required and will be returned 1 week after your departure. If the policies of recycling and garbage are not adhered to we may deduct a portion for our time to do this. |
| Rental Rates: | $1,500 per week per family of 6 people
$75 each additional person (maximum 10 people=$1,800). Memorial Day - Labor Day; Saturday 3:00 p.m. Arrival through Saturday 10:00 a.m. Departure. There is a $400 (nonrefundable) deposit/week required. Seasonal/weekend rates available upon request from Labor Day Memorial Day. |
