“This was our 1st year to rent with Jim and Mary. The cabin was comfortable and well equipped with all the essentials for a home away from home. The docks were great for our boats and we enjoyed using their canoe to paddle around on the lake. We also enjoyed campfires by the lean to while watching the lake and listening to the loons. Mary and Jim were very knowledgeable about the area and we enjoyed listening to their stories. Short drives to Inlet and Blue Lake to enjoy more of ADKs beauty. We would recommend checking out their cabin and God willing we hope to return someday. Thanks again Mary and Jim for a good time”

“We are looking forward to our fourth stay at Blanchard's South Bay Camp. The cottage is wonderful, with good-size rooms, lots of windows with a view of the lake and privacy. Kayaking on the lake is great, close to the village and Golden Beach. The owners are very nice. ”

“This was our 3rd summer at Raquette Lake and we can't say enough about the house, the location, or the owners!! When we drive away we immediately start talking about coming back next summer. Our boys LOVE the Blanchard's house and Raquette Lake. The house is immaculate, the location is peaceful, and it is just the most perfect place to relax and enjoy our time as a family. It literally is the best week or two of the year for us. We swim, fish, do S'mores, and take little day trips hiking, exploring, and to the water park. We could not recommend a property or its owners more highly.”

“We just returned from our relaxing and wonderful vacation at Blanchard's Camp. The place is so quaint and comfortable. Jim and Mary were great host and hostess. They are close by but you never feel they are watching you.The dock and lean too were perfect for day and nighttime . Firewood was provided for evening enjoyment. We saw and Eagle just a small distance off shore sitting on a rock eating a fish. Bring your binoculars and camera. We would surely return but our family is growing so we may outgrow this great place. Thank you!! ”

“We have been returning to this wonderful spot about every other year since 1983. We make the 9 hour drive from Maryland to the beauty of this setting and to the Blanchard's never-failing hospitality, and the stress of everyday life just seems to drop away as we walk out onto the dock and take in the view of Raquette Lake. The cottage itself has all the amenities we ever want or need. The master bedroom is comfortable, as are the living and dining areas, and the view of the lake that peaks through the trees from the kichen and dining room is alwys appealing. The cabin's location is extremely convenient for getting around and for all the Adirondack activities we enjoy. We love being able to walk mere steps to the dock to drop the canoe in the water and head out for the day. We never run out of interesting lakes and rivers to explore on Raquette and the nearby waterways. We are also handy to many, many hikes we know and love from this site, from the great views at the top of Blue Mountain to the forest and lake walks that abound in the area. Raquette is a great spot for history in the Adirondacks as well. We enjoy the Adirondack Museum in nearby Blue Mountain, and Great Camp Sagamore in Raquette itself. But Waterfront Cottage itself brings us back over and over - it is so private, peaceful and welcoming. We have watched a bald eagle fom the kitchen window and loons and otters from the dock. We have a great time there always, and look forward to retuning for many years to come.”

“Located on a quiet part of Raquette Lake, surrrounded by woods, we have enjoyed a number of weeks over several years. Waterside Cottage is cozy, comfortable and peaceful. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the scenery. We enjoy the lean-to with stone fireplace, the sandy beach and dock for swimming. The view is wonderful. It is a great location for exploring the Adirondacks, as it is an easy drive to most areas. The owners take very good care of the property and enjoy making sure the guests feel welcome. We look forward to our next Adirondack vacation at Waterside Cottage. ”

“This is a wonderful, clean cottage located on a secluded bay. We rented 2 years, and would definitely return. The owner's home is also on the property, but otherwise there are no close neighbors so it is very private. Everything you need is there, and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. ”

“We - and many members of our family - have been coming to Blanchard's for almost 30 years. Over the years the cottage has been constantly improved - and the location is just right. By the lake, but sheltered with a splendid lean to for those who like to sleep out. A quiet, hidden treasure, but near to Great Camps and Museums.”
