Sunny yellow doors welcome you to the year round comfort of The TAMARACK. Our owl sentinel beckons you to enjoy a warm fire under a vaulted ceiling in an extraordinary cabin nestled privately in the High Peaks Region of the great Adirondack Mountains. This gem is facing the headwaters of the Hudson River in Newcomb NY. Just two hours from Albany. The High Peaks surround you like wings and the reflection of ancient trees can be viewed from an expansive front porch as the sun soaks your face each morning. The locals know that every season is beautiful in these great mountains, so join us anytime for as long as you like. The TAMARACK has sleeping room for four to six people or is romantic enough for just two. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences and yet is filled with old world charm. A carved turtle greets you at the water fountain and his glorious color matches the beautiful wanes coat ceiling. Listen to the wise old mountain folk on the Cloudsplitter CD or bring your own music. Turn on the romantic gas lights and enjoy the silence of the night. There is a loft where the windows provide beautiful views and a lower sleeping area for privacy. You can rent a canoe and paddle up or down the Hudson headwaters or put in at any of the beautiful lakes nearby. There is great fishing, mountain biking, golf, and hiking near your front door. Cross country ski, snowmobile, snowshoe, or walk hand in hand around a private mountainside. Use the TAMARACK as a sanctuary, stay and just sit, relax, read, and contemplate the meaning of your life. This rental is a part of Adirondack History as this is where the River Drivers(also known as Pilots) held their square dances while staying at the Hudson River Hotel and Store. The Hotel is now our House. The store is once again open and known as Cloud-Splitters or Dave and Ruth's depending on who you ask. The PILOT'S BUNKHOUSE is a pet friendly rental geared towards larger groups of hiker, biker, paddler types who just need a soft dry place to rest after emersion from their choice of Adirondack experience. The Pilots Bunkhouse is Pet friendly to well behaved dogs. Owners may not leave their pup unattended. Leashes must be used while out on the property. There is a $25 fee for dogs staying at the Pilot Bunkhouse. |
| Smoking Policy: | Cloud-Splitter Cabins Rentals are totally smoke free. This means no smoking inside or on the porches. |
| Cleaning Policy: | We ask that you leave the rentals as you find them. We try very hard to provide an over the top rental and clean is a big part of our business ethic. If you need assistance with cleaning throughout or at the end of your stay this can be arranged for an additional fee. |
| Linen Policy: | Linens are provided for The Tamarack at no additional fee.
The Pilot's Bunkhouse has linen packs available for an additional fee. |
| Security Deposit Information: | This is a hard one...
Our guests have been the best. So far we have not needed a Security deposit. Dave and I hope we can continue our laid back approach to this subject. So knock on wood until we feel differently,there is no Security Deposit and that is our Policy! |
| Rental Rates: | $1,000 per week for The Tamarack*
$ 900 per week for the Pilot's Bunkhouse* *These rates are Prime season packages which include linens and the use of two boats everyday of your choice from our recreational line of Canoes and Kayaks. Nightly rate Off Season $80 - $125, double occupancy. $10 per extra guests per night. Off Season runs from Second week in October to the Second week in June. Excluded are all Holiday periods. Military Discounts available. |
