| This cozy waterfront cottage is nestled on 140 feet of lake-front property on the quieter end of Lake Pleasant. The view of the lake, with the backdrop of the Adirondack mountains, is the reason we fell in love with the house. It is spectacular! By the way, it's called Lake Pleasant for a reason. Rent this little slice of heaven and relax, relax, relax! Wake up early to see an incredible sunrise. Or, cap off the day while sipping a cocktail on the new, large deck. Swim off our shore, sun on our grassy beach or expanded L-shaped dock, go for a quiet canoe ride, snooze in the hammock or roast marshmallows around the fire at night while you star gaze. There is plenty of room to tie your boat or wave runner to our dock. You'll love the convenience of walking out of the house, down the lawn and onto your boat. By the way, we're in a cove of sorts which provides calmer waters for water skiing and is known for its great fishing.
Inside, the cottage is decorated in the Adirondack style. What really makes it though, are the huge windows on both levels which provide incredible views of the lake and mountain landscape. Upstairs, there is a living room with a large stone fireplace, a dining area, kitchen, two quaint bedrooms (queen size beds) and a full bathroom. The downstairs "suite", as we call it, has a bedroom with twin beds, a queen size futon, a full bathroom and a large, newly carpeted, furnished family room. The house comfortably sleeps eight (8) adults. It is equipped with microwave, toaster, coffee maker, kitchenware, washer/dryer, gas grill (propane provided), cable TV, VCR/DVD, stereo, movies, books, and games. The Cozy Cove offers an all-season vacation wonderland. The summer kicks off with a patriotic Fourth of July celebration with a banner parade in town, followed in the evening with a spectacular firework show on the lake. A tradition on the lake is to boat out from our dock to see the show, or you can enjoy it from our deck. For those who enjoy sea-planes, later in July there is the annual Lake Pleasant fly-in. The cottage is minutes away from great summer fun such as hiking, mountain biking, golf, and tennis. A local marina rents watercraft. The village of Speculator (five minutes) offers shopping, restaurants and a public beach. Camp of the Woods is a five minute drive. Some of the other local lakes (all within 30 minutes) offer wonderful hiking trails, grilling/picnic spots, restaurants, and shopping. Rafting, kayaking, four wheeling, horseback riding, museums, and caverns are within close range. We are two hours south of Lake Placid, one hour west of Lake George, and about 90 minutes from Saratoga. Summer is great fun for water sports and the Fall is breathtakingly beautiful. For the Winter months, enjoy the local ski mountain, Oak Mountain, which is only 5 minutes from the house. Oak Mountain is family-friendly and offers alpine skiing, tubing, and a ski lodge. Gore Ski Mountain is approximately 35 minutes from the house. There is also sledding and snow mobile trails within 5 minutes of the house. From our house, you can ride your snow mobile onto the lake, and up into the mountain trails. We request a deposit of 25% of the rental fee to confirm the reservation and payment of the balance according to the schedule, as outlined in the rental contract. We do not hold/reserve/book any dates until we receive a deposit check. Once we receive your deposit check, we will confirm your reservation by telephone and/or email and send you a rental contract and information packet. Once we receive final payment we will send you directions and instructions for the house. The deposit is non-refundable. The balance and $500 security deposit are due one month prior to check-in. Assuming there is no damage to the property and utility and cleaning costs are customary, the security deposit will be returned within thirty (30) days. We are willing to consider other arrival and departure times if needed. To make a reservation, please check our availability calendar which is kept current.
