| The Beach House at "Elephant's Nest" is a rental cottage, part of a Historic estate built by the family who founded National Cash Register Co. The main lodge is an Adirondack Great Camp loacted on Beaver Lake in the Adirondack Park. Beaver Lake is a private, pristine lake about 2 miles long and 2 miles wide located 20 miles east of Lowville, NY and 7 miles from Stillwater Lake. Famous guests at one time included Howard Hughes, Brenda Duff Fraser, The Duke of Richelieu, James Bush, uncle of the first President Bush. The property is on a penninsula, privately owned.
Reservations can be made by telephone. The weekly rate is $600. A reservation deposit of $100 is required. An extra sleeping room can be rented in the property Boat House for extra guests. A canoe goes with the Beach House and a kayak is available for rental. Long distance telephone calls require renters to have a phone calling card. This is an ideal "Getaway Cottage", a place to escape from modern noise and traffic, a place to enjoy nature and easy living!! |
