| Nestled on one of the nicest bays on the lake at the North end of the Great Sacandaga Lake, this lovely cottage is just a few steps from the water, bordered by nothing but woods on one side. In the style of the great Adirondack cabins, the camp features a large stone fireplace, the necessary modern amenities in kitchen and baths, a large table that seats eight for dining, and traditional knotty pine paneling throughout the house. A wall of picture windows face the lake.
Outdoors, sit on the deck, surrounded by tall pines and enjoy the gas grill while watching the lake as the sun sets. A beautiful dock and excellent paddling canoe come with the camp, as does a lakeside fire pit for campfires under the stars. The warm but very clean silky waters of the Great Sacandaga are the perfect swimming for warm-blooded "down-staters" while being firmly in the gorgeous surrounds of the Adirondack Park. Two nearby towns (approx. 10 miles each) offer convenient shopping, with nearby Saratoga Springs providing excellent dining, music, spas, horse racing and performing arts (in season). Lake George is only 15 miles away with full amusement park, miniature golf, horseback riding, etc. Use the cottage as a base camp to explore the unparalleled hiking opportunities in the region. Some of the best whitewater tubing and rafting are only minutes away. Find cultural destinations such as art museums in Glens Falls or Williamstown in the nearby Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts. |
