| Camp Auer is a modern log cabin on Loon Lake. A sunlit great room with a cathedral ceiling, wood stove and views of the lake, a screened porch with picnic table, two bedrooms (one with bunk beds and the other with a day bed with trundle) and a full bath with washer & dryer are on the main floor. Climb the spiral log staircase to the master bedroom in the loft for more views of the lake (queen + 1/2 bath).
Loon Lake is a secluded community on a private lake. The lake is clean and clear and wonderful for boating, swimming and fishing off of our dock. There are roads, trails and mountains for walking and hiking. Two kayaks, a canoe and a sailboat are available for exploring the lake with its irregular shoreline. There is a gas grill off of the porch and a fire pit at the waterfront. At night the dock is a wonderful place to view the phenomenal star-filled sky while listening to loons. The camp is about 25 minutes from Saranac Lake, 40 minutes from Lake Placid and 50 minutes from Plattsburgh. We ask that you do not bring your own boat to the lake. |
