| River Ranch is an elegant home with a unique combination of rustic ranch and Adirondack decor, that is highlighted with fine antique furniture, oriental rugs and two majestic fireplaces. There are breath taking views of the High Peak Mountains. Below is a picture , across one of our fields, called the "Plains of Abraham"--which is one of the most photographed scenes in the Adirondacks.
The Ranch was frequently used for VIP parties during the 1980 Winter Olympics, and it has been featured in photographs on the atrium of New York City's Grand Central Station and in "Town & Country" magazine. A quarter mile driveway adds to the privacy of the 300 acres of open fields, forests, and the Ausable River. There is a 10 mile network of groomed trails on the property that are excellent for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, horseback riding, hiking, running, biking, hunting, fishing, sleigh rides or dogsled rides. Throughout the marked trail network, there are many views of the surrounding mountains and also private access to the Ausable River, world famous for its fishing. Hunting is available and fields may be stocked.Open fields excellent for a golf driving range. Bonfires, cookouts & overnights may be arranged. The Ranch sleeps 12 with a separate living area (private entrance, 2 bedrooms, living room and bathroom) which lends itself to hosting 2 families. Concierge, catering, care takers and guide service may also be provided. The property is next to the Iron Man Triathlon course, the Lake Placid Horse Show grounds, the Olympic ski jumps, Olympic skating oval and the Olympic Sports Complex (bobsled,skeleton, luge, cross-country skiing & biathlon). The Ranch is 3 miles from the village of Lake Placid, 10 miles from Whiteface Mountain, and minutes from 5 championship golf courses. |
