“My wife and I, along with my brother and his wife stayed here for 3 nights. Our only complaint is that we didn't book it for a longer stay! Check in was easy, communication excellent and we got to meet and have a chat with the owner. Impressive place with beautiful scenery looking out upon the river. House was amazing, just so comfortable. We are already planning coming back for a week next year. Seriously can't go wrong with staying here!!!”

“My husband and I stumbled upon the Chalet when searching for a honeymoon spot near the Adirondacks and it was even more beautiful in person! Dean was also such a great owner, who we loved chatting with now and again during our stay. We learned he build the Chalet himself which made us appreciate every little detail all the more, and he gave us great tips on different things to do from hiking to sightseeing to food. While friendly neighbors are nearby, once inside you feel like you're on a hidden oasis looking out towards the beautiful river, but still close enough to civilization if needing food or gas in a pinch. It was such a lovely addition to our honeymoon as a whole and will love to stay again in the future!”

“ A great getaway! The owners are nice and the place is terrific. Right on the water, lots to do close by. And what cool place! Tons of gorgeous woodwork, newer furnishings and a whole lot of nature.
I would highly recommend a stay here, any season. The Chalet has a very efficient wood stove and has all the modern features you would find in a high end resort at a much more affordable price.”

“My wife and I truly enjoyed this beautiful space. The quality of the workmanship in the interior spaces is A+, the furnishings (from lamps to mirrors to art work) are beautiful, and the living conditions perfectly comfortable. We could sit and watch the River flow by for hours - and we did. The kitchen is well set up for cooking and the wood stove puts out some heat! It is a quiet and peaceful place - a great place to relax away from any hustle and bustle.”

“We could not have been more pleased with this rental and the owners. The chalet had all the amenities you could ask for. Firewood was even provided! The view from the chalet is absolutely breathtaking. There is nothing like having your morning coffee overlooking the river. The location is perfect for hitting the bike trails and hiking trails. We couldn't find the second canoe that was offered and texted the owner. Literally, within minutes, the owner came down with the second canoe and paddles! We cannot wait to rent this chalet again for some XC skiing! ”

“This is gorgeous place to stay! House is beautiful, clean, fully equipped and very cozy.Amazing windows view on river shows walking deers who come to drink some water. It makes you feel how close you are to the mother nature. We were very excited to see them! We had a fantastic time in snow north part of the country. You can ski all day or go shop to the local gift stores and then have a good BBQ dinner tonight. We also visited Utica Zoo which is about 35 min to drive but it was fun! Its the best place for everyone who wants to enjoy time with a family or close friends. I will recommend. Regards,Maria”

“Dean and Diana created a beautiful chalet on the river. It is designed and constructed with loving care for every detail. It was a perfect place to stay - provided everything we needed for relaxation and it is also near so many places to enjoy the water. We like to kayak and we were able to find many options of rivers and lakes to explore. I would recommend this spot to anyone - families, couples, friends.”

“We had a marvelous holiday at "BLACK RIVER CHALET".
The cottage is beautiful, clean, tastefully furnished, and spacious. It is even more beautiful than the photographs on the site. We loved the view of the river from the living room. We were delighted to find out that we could actually bathe in the river. The kitchen, living room, bathrooms, and bedrooms included everything we could possibly need. We felt so comfortable in this charming and peaceful place that we were sincerely sorry to pack up and go home.
We met the owner on the first day, and he was warm, friendly, accommodating, and helpful.
Highly recommended by all members of our family. Thank you!”

“We just returned from a wonderful weekend getaway. The chalet was absolutely beautiful, spacious, and the view of the river was to die for! The cabin was warm spacious and stocked with everything we could ever need. Thank you to Dean for making every step of the booking process so stress free. We certainly hope to return again and highly recommend the cabin! ”

“What a beautiful 2 weeks we had at this cottage. Located right by the river, it could not be more peaceful and welcoming. The river is just a few footsteps away, and as it is shallow it is perfect for children and for canoeing & kayaking. The cottage itself is newly renovated, is very spacious and has everything you need for your vacation. Boonville is less than 5 minutes away, where you will find a cute sand beach, a park as well as the Mercer Ice Cream Shop (a must). The owners were so kind and helpful, they were able to recommend hiking, cycling and running paths close to the cottage, which we all very much enjoyed with our little one. Neighbours at cottages around are also very friendly and welcoming. We loved our experience at this cottage and would definitely go again.”

“What a great place to stay!! A warm, welcoming haven after days of hiking and motorcycle riding! Owner was very accommodating and easy going. House was clean with nice touches throughout to make our stay very enjoyable! We had a slight problem with the microwave and mentioned it when we saw the owner....the next day he showed up with a brand new one!! I'd easily recommend this place to others! Thank you for allowing us to stay there!”

“This camp was a home away from home. The pictures depict exactly what you get. The house was very cozy and suited our needs perfectly. Being right on the water was fantastic and we had a lot of fun tubing and kayaking! (we brought our own). There is great ice cream very near by and a pretty big park with two playgrounds that our kids thoroughly enjoyed. To top it all off, the owners were very nice people and had a lot of information about the area. They were very easy to deal with and got back to us quickly about anything we needed. Thank you Diana and Dean, we had a great stay at your beautiful house! ”

“We rented for a week with another couple. The pictures do not do this site justice ! The view of the river was great . Small area where you could walk into the river and swim, kayak and fish! It was everything we hoped an Adirondack rental would be . Town was just 5 minutes away , and there was a huge park for the kids in town as well as " POOL" ...... beach area. If you go , take your self to MERCER's Ice cream!.....the rental is well worth the money!”
