The Uncas House, located in Chatiemac Estates, is just three miles from Gore Mountain Resort. Located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains, you can enjoy any number of outdoor activities during your stay at the Uncas House. Skiing, boating, biking, fishing, white water rafting, horsebacking riding, sledding, horse drawn sleigh rides, swimming, hiking, shopping or just relaxing are all possible at the Uncas House. We are five minutes from the quaint town of North Creek, 20 minutes from Bolt …on Landing's great restaurants, and 20 minutes from Lake Georges beaches and resorts. Our private 3/4 acres is fully wooded and isolated but is nestled in a friendly, family oriented community.

“Great little house with a nice living room. We were there in summer, but I imagine its a perfect ski house, given that its like 10 minutes to Gore. Really enjoyed the hot tub and has everything else you could need. Perhaps to be expected for the area, but the water is pretty sulfuric if that kind of thing bothers you.”

“Our family of 4 had a wonderful time staying at the Uncas House. It was spacious, very clean, and well-equipped. We especially enjoyed use of the hot tub in the evening. The house is in a quiet location yet only a few minutes to the Gore Mountain entrance about 10 minutes from North Creek which has restaurants and shops. We will be back!”

“The Uncas House was a great place to stay for our Adirondack family vacation (two adults and two teens). The house is surrounded by trees and is very private, but there is just enough of a clearing overhead to get a fantastic view of the stars on a clear night! We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after days of hiking and zip lining. It is larger than it looks in the picture and has adjustable jet settings-very nice! The kitchen is small, but more than sufficient for preparing meals, and has everything you need within arm's reach. The living room and dining room areas are beautiful and spacious with high ceilings. A spiral staircase leads up to the second floor. We had plenty of space to have meals and play games at the dining room table. We loved that we could take the cover off and play bumper pool! So much fun! The living room area was comfortable for lounging around, watching movies, and playing video games. Having a Roku right there was great! We were able to just sign into our Prime account to get movies. The kids were happy to have their own space in the bunk and twin bedrooms upstairs. They were also glad to have a full bathroom on the second floor. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit cold for swimming this week, but we did get a chance to check out the pool briefly. It is a nice size, has both a shallow and deep end, lots of room for sitting in the sun around the pool. There are also grills, picnic tables, a bathroom, and horseshoes to enjoy! I could see how you could easily spend an afternoon there on a hot day. We were so happy to have found a place so conveniently located at a reasonable price. During our stay, we visited Lake George, Gore Mountain, Adirondack Extreme Adventures (zip lines and ropes course), and some of the trails near Indian Lake. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to spend some time in the Adirondacks. You will not be disappointed! ”

“GREAT place with lots of bed space! Hot tub was SO nice to have after a day of walking around Lake George (about 30min away) or checking out Gore Mountain (about 10 min away). Very clean when we arrived, felt like we were the first ones there all year! Excellent and efficient use of space in every room (so many beds!). Kitchen was well-equipped. The spiral stairs and upstairs railing are not very kid-friendly (we have a 2 year old and a 1 year old) with large spaces between banisters, so keep that in mind if you are bringing little ones. We ended up having our two kids sleep downstairs so they wouldnt sneak out up there and get hurt. Just food for thought for those with small kids.The owners were very prompt in responding to emails, which was very convenient. Well be back!”

“My wife and I had a relaxing, much needed getaway at the Uncas House. In the current pandemic, we were leery of air travel but sorely needed a getaway--and this place delivered! The pictures don't really do justice to how spacious it is. And it's very private (some homes don't picture a neighbor's home directly beside it...there are no such issues here). Otherwise, my two cents? 1.) Bring some food along in a cooler. The kitchen has everything you need to do the cooking but the nearest grocery stores are comparatively far away. 2.) If staying in the remainder of this summer, maybe bring a small fan. The nights cool down well but there's no A/C (because, realistically, it's not needed 11 months of the year!) A small fan will move that cool air around, particularly on your first night. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend to anyone who needs a private, secluded getaway. -Matt ”

“ I recently spent 3 days at "Uncas House" with my 3 adult sons, for our annual guys "get-away." This house was just what the doctor ordered! Located in the beautiful Adirondack Park of NYS, it offered the seclusion we wanted, but also allowed us to enjoy several activities located nearly...golf, tubing down a class 2 river, and the rental of a pontoon boat, all within a half hour's drive. The house itself was spacious, well appointed, plenty of room for eating, TV watching, deck lounging (which included a hot tub), a fully equipped kitchen, and 2 full bathrooms. There was also the availability of a bumper billiards table, games, and books to enjoy. We took full advantage of every amenity, from morning coffee on the deck, to enjoying a soak in the hot tub after a long day of outdoor activities. It would be easy to see why this house would be popular for a winter skiing weekend as well. It is a pleasure for me to recommend Uncas House for a long weekend get-away for a family, or small group of friends!”

“Wonderful for 6 tired women after a rafting trip..and so close to the train station for the rev-rail!!! Very secluded, very woodsy and we had the full moon experience at the hot tub, We brought our own food and the kitchen was not only beautiful, (we all just LOVED the backsplash.) ..it was very functioning. We forgot coffee so that was our only run to store moment. We had a later check out from Cheryl and that was also nice as our train ride was 8 am...we were out by 11 after the ride. We did drive past the house a couple times till one of the girls spotted the skiis ( so cute) with the number on it...the grass was kinda covering it...but we found it! Also- not sure how this works..but I spent hours typing in North Creek places to stay..and it was only in my 5th hoursthat ADK by owner popped up- I had rented long ago and forgot about it...but you almost have to dig for it...and there was a ton of dates open....BUT perhaps this is how the owners like it? Now i have it book marked! Thanks again! Connie Goodspeed”

“What a great place to stay. We have rented this house many times over the last 10 years or so. It is clean, well appointed and well maintained. The owners are always very attentive and bend over backwards to make our stays enjoyable. It is secluded enough but yet close enough to most anything you might like to do in the Adirondacks. The perfect place to unwind and re-energize.”

“Uncas House is the very nice place to stay on long weekend. It is very comfortable and cozy place. You have everything you would need. We go there 3 years in the row, and we are planing to go again. There are many interesting things to do. The proximity to Gore mountain, North Creek town, several small lakes where you can swim, Lake George is hard to beat. You can plan and do multiple different things, just staying in this place. This year we did a trip to Lake Placid. We always enjoy our time we spent in Uncas House.”

“My family of 3 rented the Uncas House for 4 nights in August 2016. The house is very nice and cozy and in excellent condition. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals, and there was plenty of room inside the house and on the porch to kick back and relax after a day of hiking and kayaking. The hot tub was also a nice addition! The place is surrounded by beautiful trees and is very private, which is what we were looking for. It's near a charming small town with at least one excellent restaurant (BarVino) and a few stores in case you need groceries, gas, or other supplies. The house is situated midway between Lake George and Indian Lake. Lake George was a bit crowded and touristy for our tastes, but we had a fantastic time kayaking and hiking on the beautiful and unspoiled Indian Lake. I'd easily recommend Uncas House to anyone who wants a charming place to stay while visiting the Adirondacks.”

“My wife and stayed here in the middle of August for a kind of "get away from it all" long weekend. It was absolutely wonderful! The house is very clean and has everything you need. We used the hot tub which was very enjoyable, cooked out on the grill and just relaxed. We really liked the location tucked in the woods as well. If anything, the house is much nicer than what is shown in the pictures. We are definitely coming back in the near future for a little longer stay.”

“The perfect winter chalet! Surrounded by snow laden trees, the house is well cared for and provides everything you need for a fun time. We sat by the wood burning stove at night and played games and during the day, it was a short drive to the slopes and shopping. A great getaway in a snowy part of NY state, the owners provided a well provisioned home. The hot tub is certainly a bonus!”

“Perfect house for a girls fall weekend. The neighborhood is lovely and great for walking or running, and is centrally located to shopping and restaurants. There are other houses nearby, but far enough that we had all the privacy we needed. The views are beautiful from every window. The house is extremely neat and clean and very well-maintained. We cooked in a few nights and the kitchen had everything we needed. While there we kayaked, hiked, golfed, did some exploring by car and a little shopping. There was also a great brew pub a few miles away. ”

“Uncas House is a wonderful place to spend time and relax. It's located in a private community that's quiet and peaceful, with beautiful surroundings. The house itself is very clean and comfortable, nicely decorated, and well maintained. The beds are cozy, especially on cool nights (we like to sleep with the windows open), with comforters that keep you toasty warm. The kitchen is very well appointed with everything you may need to prepare a meal. Of all the vacation rentals we've stayed in over the years, this was definitely the best equipped kitchen we've had yet. There a many thoughtful features about this house that really make it comfortable and convenient to stay in, and enjoy the variety of activities you've come to the Adirondacks for. The deck is such a nice spot to have your morning coffee and enjoy a book; and the hot tub is definitely the spot to hang out at night and watch the stars. It's a family friendly property, that all of us (five, including two boys 11 & 13, and my mother-in-law, 85) were comfortable staying in. There's a community swimming pool a short walk (or drive) from the house, that's clean and well maintained; with tables, chairs and lounge chairs to enjoy. There's no life guard on duty, but plenty of safety equipment if needed. Uncas House is located a short distance from Gore Mountain ski area, and about five miles from the town of North Creek. It's a great location to use as a home base for day trips, or just hang out there. We took a day trip every other day, and just relaxed there the rest of the time. North Creek has a Tops grocery store with everything you'll need, and there's a good selection of places to eat as well. It's a cozy little town with a nice atmosphere. Our day trips took us to Barton Garnet Mine, Natural Stone Bridge & Caves (this one was very cool), the summit of Whiteface Mountain, the town of Lake Placid, Blue Mountain Lake and a hike up Crane Mountain. There's so much more to do, we wish we had more time there. All-in-all, it's a great place to stay, reasonably priced, and the owner is wonderful to work with (thanks again). We will definitely return for another vacation, and I have no hesitation about recommending this to anyone interested. Thanks again, we really enjoyed the property !!! ”
