“Stayed here for a week with my girlfriends family. House was found in a clean state with fresh smelling linens, nicely manicured grass and outdoor area, and spotless bathrooms. Very easy drive to the high peaks, or reason for choosing The Moose, and close to downtown Schroon Lake for grocery shopping, restaurants and entertainment. 10/10 would stay again and reccomend to a friend. ”

“Wonderful home. Everything you need is in the home with plenty of room. Bedrooms on bottom floor arealways cool, so no need for a/c. Close to many things in a beautiful area of NY. Have fire outside, sit in the screened in porch or on the upstairs deck, so many choices to just hang out when you are not exploring the area. This home is a great value and highly reccomended.”

“Exceeded expectations! We rented this home in June and enjoyed it very much. The house is nicely secluded away from the business of town, but close enough to town that the drive is not a hassle. It is also located very close to the I-87 and is only about a mile north of one of the exits. This accessibility allows you to get to several parts of the region much quicker than many other rentals. You cannot see any neighbors from the house, and as the description says it's like being in a tree house. Our favorite part of town was the inviting beach. While dogs are not allowed on the sandy beach, there is a park directly behind the beach where dogs are allowed (on leash). Some of the park is on a hill which gives a great view of the lake. The town has some cool shops and restaurants to stop in at as well. We were there a little before the main activities kicked off in town. We looked at a town calendar while we were there and it seems like the town has a different activity every day of the week starting in July and going through August. There are also some seasonal places there that are not open until the "rush" comes in, but we were satisfied with the atmosphere during our stay. We brought a couple kayaks with us and found Schroon Lake to be a very nice lake to go paddling on. There are also a plethora of hiking trails within the immediate region (less than 15 minute drive) which our group as well as our dog enjoyed very much. The main entrance of the home leads to the kitchen, dining and living rooms of a nicely cared for home, while the bedrooms are all on the lower level. This set up keeps the bedrooms rooms nice and cool without a need for air conditioning. There is a half bath on the main floor, and two full bathrooms on the floor with the bedrooms with one of them being the master bath. Each bedroom has doors that lead out to the backyard and the level where the fire pit is located. There is a nice deck where the grill is and where you can sit out among the trees and enjoy the wilderness while reading a book. The screened porch is also nice for being able to sit outside while not being bothered by bugs. There is ample room for parking (at least 4 cars, probably 5), and although the slope of the driveway can be a little intimidating, the drop allows for much more privacy. Karl recommended a guy (Don) to deliver us wood for a fair price($75) and he was definitely more than fair. The wood lasted us the week and then some for the same amount I would pay for a few nights of wood at a campground. The kitchen supplies were very accommodating as they even had a wok (we had brought our own thinking they wouldn't have one). We did not get washed out at all during our stay but the washer and dryer on site gives a comfortable feeling knowing it is there. The only issue we had was that the wireless went out during the week, and it required a Verizon technician to come out and fix something, but they could not get out to the house until after our trip was over. This is more of a Verizon issue since we called on Wednesday and they couldn't get there until Saturday evening. The value of the home for a week was well worth the price and we look forward to returning to create more memories for many years to come.”
