“We stayed at Camp-In-Da-Wae in September 2020 and absolutely loved it. The camp is located in a spot that allows for beautiful sunsets. It is only a short walk into the quaint town of Raquette Lake, the walk itself cross the end of the lake with more options for great pictures. We plan on going back when time allows. Thank you to the hosts as everything was great.”

“We stayed for 4 nights and had a great time on Raquette Lake. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Most of our meals were eaten at the cabin and the kitchen was well stocked. We spent as much time as possible outside enjoying the large deck, fire pit, grill, SUP, kayaks and canoe. Each morning started with fishing off the dock and ended with a warm fire right next to the lake. We had one cold day during our stay but the large windows facing the lake allowed us to keep warm while still being able to enjoy the view. The owner was very responsive to all our questions. Next time we will be trying to stay longer.... ”

“Everything about the experiences our family has had at this rental has been fantastic. We came back for a second time this year and quickly remembered why this is our go to family vacation spot.We have already booked for a third year. It starts with the Conlans making the rental process extremely easy and customer friendly. They provide all the information you will need to have a relaxing, worry free vacation. On site, Don & Joyce are welcoming, friendly and helpful! The home and waterfront including all the watercraft available for use are second to none. Rain or shine this is the place we want to vacation in the Adirondacks!”

“As was the case for the past 3 years this camp is exceptionally nice and full of many amenities, Upon arrival we found the facility very clean and ready for us to have a relaxing and comfortable stay. The caretakers and neighbors welcomed us as usual which makes us feel like we definitely selected the right place! The weather was very nice for the first half of the week and then turned colder and this property is strategically located so that we easily found other options which made for a great stay! When you travel to the Adirondacks, you must understand that no matter what, you are going to experience the wilderness / roughing it aspect of a vacation!”

“I can't recommend this rental enough! The location, views, and amenities are perfect, and the house is even better in person. The house already has everything you would ever need! The kitchen is well-equipped, and the spacious seating areas both inside and out easily accommodated our large group. The few times it rained, my kids (ranging from 10-17) were happily occupied by the various board games and movies already there. The "toys" included with the rental made sure there was something for everyone to try out each day (2 paddle boards, a canoe, a pedal boat, and 2 kayaks, spike ball, ladder ball, badminton, etc.). The older kids were thrilled to see 2 bikes up for use, too, and they enjoyed their frequent bike rides for some time to explore more independently. The kids caught a ton of fish, and we all enjoyed the large fire pit right in front of the lake every single night. We have stayed several times in this area and can definitely say, this rental is our favorite, and we will be back! You don't have to bring anything since the house has it all and then some. The owners have thought of everything you could ever possibly need during your stay, and it was the most relaxing week's vacation our family has ever had. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing space with us!”

“Camp-In-Da-Wae was everything we hoped it would be for a multi-generational family of seven! Each morning as we enjoyed sipping our Keurig brewed coffee down by the dock, we were welcomed by the beautiful sun rises lighting up the shores across the lake, graceful bald eagles flying overhead, and the tremolo calls of loons in the distance. After our hearty breakfasts prepared in the well-stocked kitchen, each morning of our stay we made use of the central location of the lake house and drove a short distance away for hikes to places like Castle Rock in Blue Mountain Lake and Bald Mountain in Old Forge where we climbed the Rondaxe Fire Tower. During the afternoons we spent time fishing by using one of the many lake house's supply of boats--pedal boat, canoe, or kayaks. For bait, we utilized Bird's Marine which was 1-minute drive away (although you could reach it by boat too). The boys loved paddling over to the Big Island and exploring its wonder. When we weren't hiking or fishing, we rested comfortably in the tastefully Adirondack decorated open concept living area composed of two couches and three chairs where we perused through several Adirondack Life magazines and played checkers and other games on the coffee table. One late afternoon we all snuggled up in the loft and watched a movie on the television that we could use our Netflix account on. In the evenings, we had plenty of firewood supplied by the owner to have campfires where we sat in one of the many Adirondack chairs huddled around the large fire pit enjoying the star-filled skies. Before it would get too cool at night, the boys loved laying in the hammock or swinging in the hammock chair hung outside the walk-out basement. During our stay, we prepared and ate all our meals at the lake house and made use of the electric stove oven, gas grill, toaster, and abundance of dishes and silverware. We were thankful there was a dishwasher which made clean-up fast and easy. The owners were great with their prompt communication, unexpected gift basket, and a fast deposit return. We have no reservations about recommending this lake house to others. We like to visit the Adirondacks each autumn to see the beautiful fall foliage and will definitely consider returning again to Camp-In-Da-Wae.”

“Mini vacation on Columbus weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed this home, it"s property, and the hosts. Beautiful/rustic decor that my wife who usually does not agree with most interior designs, announced this is how she will decorate our camp sometime in the future. Warm and cozy with more than enough room for us 3 adults and 2 children. We have rented vacation homes in various states and received a welcomiing bottle of wine one time. We stayed here for 3 nights and received a goodie basket of various items. This made us feel so welcome and that they really wanted us to enjoy their home, which we did. Great, responsive hosts that we will rent from again. Location is quiet and peaceful, a nice area away from the bustling tourist areas just south. A cup of coffee on the deck with the morning cool breeze, warming fire as the sun went down while the kids explored was what we needed to distress from the busy lives we all lead. Fully equipped house with all sorts of water fun boats to use right at the dock. Thanks for letting us enjoy the beauty of the ADK at your camp. I would recommend the Navigation Cruise to learn the history of this lake. Also, my personal favorite, Red Dog Tavern's wings and pulled pork nachos. Thanks again, beautiful camp. ”

“No need to look any further for your vacation rental - this house has it all! From the kayaks to the incredible views to the well-stocked kitchen, there is nothing missing from this paradise. We took full advantage of all the water toys and enjoyed hiking several of the nearby mountains. The water temperature was perfect for the kids to swim right off the dock. We enjoyed going to many of the local attractions including the Raquette Lake Library, the Wild, and Bald and Black Bear Mountains! We used the fire pit almost every night along with the s'more ingredients from the welcome basket! The hosts are incredibly responsive and helpful - you are in great hands. ”

“This was our 2nd year staying here and it never disappoints. The cabin is always clean and has everything you need including a well stocked kitchen and the sleeping arrangements are perfect. We enjoy sitting on the dec to watch sunsets and also view the loon family swimming by. The dock is large enough to n and enjoy the scenery while swimming; no weeds to contend with. It was easy to use our kayaks and also have available a canoe and kayak from camp. There is a wide range of hiking choices; this year we a waterfall and other new trails. The owners are wonderful to work with; the contract is very specific and easy to complete . ”

“From the moment we walked in the house where we were greeted with a great welcome basket of goodies to the beautiful Adirondack furnishings we knew it would be a good weekend. The house was furnished to the nines with everything you would need. We had a wonderful time and the weather couldn't have been more perfect for paddle boat and kayaking. Fishing not so good but enjoyed watching and listening to the loons. ”

“This is a gorgeous, well-built, beautifully furnished home. My husband, 10-year old son and I stayed there for one week this summer. Upon arrival there was a welcome basket filled with s'more-making ingredients (marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate and roasting sticks). Thank goodness, because we completely forgot to pick that up at the store on our way there and my son was delighted to see that the owners were able to anticipate his needs without ever having met him. Also there was a box of pancake mix and a bottle of real maple syrup, which my son happily ate every morning for breakfast. The lake was breathtaking and sunsets were incredible. We hiked Bald Mt., Castle Rock, and the Sagamore Trail- great exercise and the views at the top were worth it. The convenience of docking our boat right at the house encouraged last minute evening fishing trips before bed and a great excuse to get another view of the sunset. The kitchen was well-equipped. Cooking full meals was a breeze. Having use of kayaks, paddle boards and canoe gave us all time to explore the lake at sun rise without disturbing our neighbors. This get away graciously satisfied our vacation needs. We wanted to unplug, relax and reconnect as family and that's exactly what we did. Thank you Dan and Carole for a wonderful experience that made us delighted to return again and enthusiastically recommend to anyone in the future.”

“Camp In Da Wae is a great place to spend time on Raquette Lake. It has everything a family needs. The upstairs area is like a separate suite. The kitchen is large and well equipped. The lake is beautiful and we had fun fishing and kayaking. It was easy to launch our kayaks from the dock. We loved the General Store in the Village; it was a 15 minute walk and it had wonderful baked goods and most necessities. The owners are well prepared for renters and answered all of questions quickly. It was a great experience!”

“This was our third year at this beautiful house. We have been coming up to the Adirondacks for the past 12 years and this is our favorite place to stay. The accommodations are beautiful - the views are breathtaking and by far our favorite family vacation spot. We have already booked for next year. The owners are such nice and genuine people. As long as they will allow us to rent from them - we will continue to come back. Words and pictures cannot describe this amazing camp. Our entire family is counting down the days till we come back next year!!! ”

“Absolutely great lake front cabin on Raquette Lake. My family and I have been vacationing on the lake for over 30 years, and this is easily the best place we have stayed. It's in a great location, right off of Route 28 and very close to the town. The house is very spacious and has everything you could need. We made great use of the kayaks, paddle boat and canoe. Dan was a pleasure to deal with, I can highly recommend to any prospective renter!”

“The cabin was as beautiful inside as was the view outside. The kitchen was equipped with everything needed and the furniture/beds were comfortable. The wifi was very nice to have since we streamed Netflix in the evenings (no tv service). The place was clean and had nice blankets and comforters/quilts (bring your own sheets). We even had use of the washer/dryer in the lower level bathroom. It was very easy to get in when we got there and the owners called a couple times to make sure everything was satisfactory. One of the drawbacks was having to pack all the extras that were not included - hand soap, dish soap, toilet paper... We stayed in February for a snowmobiling trip and because of the snow parking was a little hectic, the neighbor had some concerns but ended up letting us park a truck and trailer near her place. Would consider renting again.”

“What a beautiful place to stay! The amenities were second to none, and this place truly felt like home to us. The owners are wonderful, and have put a great deal of effort into making this a slice of heaven. We are very much looking forward to a return. Raquette Lake is spectacular, and we really enjoyed the boat tour by Raquette Lake Navigation, and the seaplane ride with Paynes. We also rented a pontoon from Burke's Marine for a couple days, allowing us to tour the whole lake. Loved this wonderful, relaxing vacation! ”

“Our stay at this beautiful camp was pretty much idyllic. Much time was spent swimming/reading/basking on or around the dock, which is designed to ride up and down with the gentle movement of the lake water. Canoeing, kayaking and paddle-boating were available whenever the mood struck. Facing north-northwest, the spacious camp deck offers sun throughout the day and sunsets over tiny Raquette Lake Village to the left. The village is near enough to walk to or kayak to in minutes. The general store provided various necessities as well as a morning paper and fresh, warm loaves of bread. There's high-def TV and broadband internet which worked fine. Whoever invented LadderBall had a good idea. The camp owners are caring and gracious and were available to answer questions before, during and after the stay. Our party -- including an 88-year-old and two large kids -- had a wonderful, quiet, great time. Highly recommended. ”

“From the first phone call in December to express an interest in renting the camp, to the last email this August about returning the security deposit, my experience with this camp and the owner has been nothing but excellent. My questions were answered promptly and the owner greeted us upon arrival to show us around and introduce us to the surroundings. The building itself was very well laid out , it was spotless and completely equipped with everything we could possibly need, including an electric beater which I used to make my niece a birthday cake. A bonus was the use of the paddleboat which was very popular with my grandchildren and they also liked the outdoor games, especially ladder ball. The deck was a great spot for relaxing, reading, and taking family photos. The parking was sometimes a challenge, but all worked out well due to the kindness of some neighbors who were very gracious to allow our boat trailer to be parked for a week near their residence. All in all, my family enjoyed our week in the camp and we have a lot of Raquette Lake summer memories to share. We would heartily recommend the renting of this camp to anyone who wants to enjoy some time in a beautiful camp on a beautiful lake. You couldn't find a better place!! ”

“Great place. The main floor with the open floor plan from the kitchen, dining area, to the living room is very nice. The outside deck is huge and a great place to hang out. Great views of the lake and mountains from the floating dock. The full bathrooms on each floor was very helpful while we had other relatives staying with us. Also they are very spacious and modern. There are camps-houses that are neighboring to this wonderful place. So parking gets tight with multiply cars. Overall it was the best location we have found in the last 5 years for our Family reunions. We have stayed in Alex. Bay, Inlet, Speculator, etc. There was plenty of room for everyone to feel very comfortable in their own space. We would definitely rent in the future. Thank You Dan and Carole for a wonderful week of vacation. Also I would like to give a shutout to the weatherman for having a week of sunshine.(July 25,2015-Aug. 1,2015) Mike L. and Extented Family(please excuse any typos)”

“What a lovely home on the lake. The house was spotless and spacious and the view was amazing. It is in a great location - a short walk to town and centrally located to many of the area attractions. They had bikes, and a paddle boat and a canoe/kayak, games, etc. The rental was arranged by another person in our group, and she said the owner was super nice to work with, and he even called during the week to be sure everything was going well. The caretakers of the property - who live down the road - were warm and welcoming. What a great week in this amazing lake house.”
