Located adjacent to the Giant Mountain Trailhead on 9N between Keene Valley and Elizabethtown, the cottage gives you all the comforts of home with quick access to climbing, hiking, skiing, and fishing for daytime activities. Owl's Head is a secluded and picturesque place to vacation, with a mountain-fed stream leading to a beaver dam at the edge of the property . Sited on forty acres of pine and birch forest adjacent to the Giant Mountain Wilderness Forest, there is much to explore right outside your back door. After the day's activities, cook in the cottage's well equipped kitchen or dine out at the warm and friendly Baxter Mountain Tavern (nearly across the street), the elegant Deer's Head Inn in E-town, or trendy Great Range in Keene Valley, all just minutes away. The cottage sleeps 3 to 5 persons, with temporary provisions for a 6th. There is one ground-floor level bedroom with a queen bed, and one upstairs loft with a queen bed and a twin daybed. On the porch is a full size futon sofa. The bathroom is on ground-floor level. The compact but full-featured kitchen includes a full-sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave and gas range. On the South side of the house, there is a screened-in porch that opens to the deck overlooking the stream below. With Pitchoff Mountain trailhead just across the road, and Whiteface Mountain 30 minutes away, the mountains and ponds of the High Peaks are right out your front door.
