Let Owl's Head Cottage be your High Peaks Base Camp for adventure and recreation, and your quiet retreat tucked away in the woods. Be right in the middle of the High Peaks for hiking or skiing this week or weekend!

Located adjacent to the Owl Head Lookout and Giant Mountain Trailhead on 9N between Keene Valley and Elizabethtown, the cottage gives you all the comforts of home with quick access to climbing, hiking, skiing, and fishing for daytime activities.

Owl's Head is a secluded and picturesque place to vacation, with a mountain-fed stream flowing behind the cottage . Sited on forty acres of pine and birch forest adjacent to the Giant Mountain Wilderness Forest, there is much to explore right outside your back door.

After the day's activities, cook in the cottage's well equipped kitchen or dine out at the warm and friendly Baxter Mountain Tavern, just minutes away. Delicious prepared meals are available from Cedar Run Bakery in Keene.

The cottage sleeps 3 to 5 persons, with temporary provisions for a 6th. There is one ground-floor level bedroom with a queen bed, and one upstairs loft with a queen bed and a twin daybed. On the porch in Summer and Fall is a full size futon sofa. The bathroom with full size shower (no tub) is on ground-floor level.

The compact but full-featured kitchen includes a full-sized fridge, dishwasher, microwave and gas range. On the South side of the house, there is a screened-in porch that opens to the deck overlooking the stream below.

Winters are warm and cozy in the fully winterized and heated cottage that also includes a woodstove with firewood provided.

With the Owl Head Lookout and Giant trailhead next door, Hurricane just down the road, and Whiteface Mountain 30 minutes away, the mountains and ponds of the High Peaks are right out your front door.

Pet Policy: Sorry, no pets are allowed.
Smoking Policy: No smoking inside the house. Smoking is allowed outside.
Cleaning Policy: A cleaning service is provided, but please tidy up before you leave with trash emptied and dishes put away or in the dishwasher.
Linen Policy: Linens (sheets and towels) are generally not provided.
Linens can be provided upon request, for an additional charge, if you are flying into the area.
Security Deposit Information: A security deposit of one-half the rental amount is required up front in addition to the rental amount.
Rental Rates: In Fall, Winter, and Spring we will rent days, weekends or full weeks. In Summer we like to rent by the full week only, but sometimes can make exceptions. If you see an open time, feel free to ask.

We are now collecting 3% Room Occupancy Tax for Essex County. When we send you a contract, there will be a separate line item for the tax.

Fall and Winter Rates starting in September and ending in May/ June.

2 night weekend: $395 U.S.
3 night weekend: $575 U.S.

Additional weekday nights $170 per night.

Fall and Winter weeks: $1,200 per week, call to discuss arrival and departure dates

Summer Rates Starting in June and ending in September.

All Summer rentals are full week only, Saturday to Saturday, $1,300 per week, U.S. Dollars

One-half due to reserve if more than one month prior to rental date.
Within one month of rental date, full amount is due to reserve.
