WHAT IT BE: rustic-but-comfortable cabin on ~40 acres at 1600' elevation in the secluded "Glen" of Jay, NY, at the edge of the Adirondack "High Peaks." Fully furnished. Sleeps 10 max. Within easy driving distance of "High Peaks" trailheads, skiing at Whiteface Mountain, and civilization in Lake Placid. Perfect for hikers, honeymooners, fishermen, families, fans of Olympic sports, skiers, watercolorists, nudists, misanthropes, & anyone wanting peace & quiet with a KILLER VIEW.

YOU GET: privacy; the sound of the wind & the leaves; wrap-around deck w/ hammock, "Adirondack chairs," picnic table (umbrella in season), and that KILLER VIEW; big meadow full of berries; hiking & XC skiing right out the door; screened-in back porch (furnished in season); charcoal grill (furnished in season); living room w/ rustic decor, comfy furniture, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace + wood burning stove (wood provided); 47" flatscreen TV for watching Amazon Prime, etc; DVD player; a plethora of DVD's; 3 iHomes; boombox w/ assortment of CDs (reflecting my musical taste - which is excellent I might add); updated kitchen w/ all necessary implements of destruction (including a dishwasher once you arrive); 3 bedrooms + living room futon; 1 full bath + half bath; stone-ringed fire pit for roasting marshmallows or obtaining information the hard way; high-speed internet. PLUS running water (cold AND hot!) and furnace heat.

LOADS OF WILDLIFE: spotted on/near the property: moose; deer; bears; coyotes; porcupines; foxes; hawks; owls; bats; hikers; humming birds; wild turkeys; rabbits; red squirrels; chipmunks; that f###!!! groundhog.

STUFF TO DO: go swimming by the historic covered bridge in Jay; fish the nearby Ausable River; climb one of the nearby 46 "High Peaks" (or Jay Peak #79 right across the street); eat, shop, wander about Lake Placid (17.7 miles); ski Whiteface Mountain (9.5 miles); get a to-die-for pie at the Noonmark Diner in Keene Valley ("Very Berry Crumble" - you're welcome) or gather berries in the field & bake your own pie; take a Lake Champlain Ferry to VT for the day; ride a horse/take a lesson at Rookery Ranch in Keene; take the kiddies to "North Pole, NY" (America's first amusement park) to see Santa's Workshop; melt in an "Adirondack chair" and watch the sun set; lie in the hammock after dark and play "Spot the Satellites"; marvel at The Milky Way (and the Northern Lights if you're lucky enough); get a full body tan without getting arrested; finish a thought for a change.

CREATURE COMFORTS: The cabin is rustic but comfortable - like an Adirondack Camp should be! But fear not, you won't have to cook in an iron cauldron over an open fire - unless that's your idea of a good time.

CONGRATULATIONS! You have found Nirvana AND Valhalla AND Xanadu AND Utopia AND Paradise AND Cosmic Consciousness on 40 acres. C'mon! It'll be fun!!

SOME RECENT, EXCLAMATION-FILLED TENANT TESTIMONIALS:

WOLFGANG & BIRGIT from Wilmington, DE:
"Our first thought after arriving was, 'Yes! Everything done right! High Five!"

JEFF from Oswego, NY:
"Our stay was great! Thanks so much for everything you did for me, especially how quickly you were able to get us into your cabin. The place is beautiful! I like how removed it is from Lake 'Plastic' and Keene Valley. The views were spectacular, and I think we even saw a coyote or wolf in the meadow our first day there. My wife was so surprised. I had her convinced we were going camping in a tent, and when we got to your cabin, she was quite confused. She was literally speechless for the first hour or so, with the exception of, 'Are you serious? I can't believe this.' We loved the decor as well as the Adirondack reading. We are convinced your cabin would be a great place to stay again and again. Your rates were incredibly fair, and thanks again for that. And thanks for the security deposit. In the past I have had some sketchy vacation landlords really sock me with 'cleaning fees.' I'm happy you weren't one of them."

ADAM from Baldwin, NY:
"The camp was probably the nicest vacation place I can remember! You found one of the best spots in the region."

JENNIFER from Massachusetts:
"Long live 'Liberty! Acres!!!!!' We loved the cabin! We explored, built fires, roasted marshmallows, rocked in the hammock, slept on the porch, climbed our favorite peaks, hopped rocks on the Boquet River, ate pizza in Lake Placid, swam at Split Rock, ate ice cream at Noonmark Diner. My kids and husband sun-setted on Jay Peak across the street and watched as the last, rosy light withdrew from darkening clouds and gilded every contour as night claimed the world. My favorite thing was sitting in an 'Adirondack chair' on the deck, absorbing the peace and beauty - the gorgeous view across the meadow early in the morning, and later in the heat of the day, and later as the sun went down. We loved the cabin - tucked away in the mountains, yet close to anything we wanted to do. Our week felt like a piece of Paradise that we had stumbled across and seemed to own."

JOHN & NOLA from Australia:
"We were totally taken by our stay! We absolutely loved it! I can't imagine a better place to stay in the Adirondacks."

SOPHIE & JUSTIN from Montreal ("regular Canadian tenants that are delighted!"):
"Best start for summer! Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to stay at your cabin. As every stay we were pampered by the surrounding nature! The site is still as enchanting and peaceful, and the cabin so rallying! Each season is full of surprises, and now we can say we have tried many! Wild strawberries at the end of spring, blueberries and mushrooms during summer, fireflies at night, beautiful Ausable River down the hill (best swimming/playing area our kids ever had!), mushrooms again during fall, cross-country skiing directly from the cabin during winter, stars, stars, stars all year round! And after all these discoveries and activities, what a pleasure to go back to the cozy ambiance of this cabin, in front of a fire playing games or having a grilled marshmallow. As you very well describe, we feel alone and surrounded by nature. And it's true: the view 'kills' you. No doubt we will continue to come!"

CHRIS from Ohio:
"Your place and price was a real deal and so comfortable and enjoyable. Can't say enough good things to describe our experience there!"

RUBEN from Plattsburgh, NY:
"I appreciate your working with me in making our 23rd anniversary our best ever."

REBECCA from Toms River, NJ:
"We have stayed at the cabin a couple of times now, both in winter and summer, and we absolutely love it! There's so much to do in the area no matter the time of year, and we did everything from a horse-drawn sleigh ride to renting a boat for the day. The view from the famous "Bourbon Sipping Deck" is INCREDIBLE, and the wrap-around porch makes it even more enjoyable. The kids made s'mores around the fire pit, and there was all that land for them to run around and play. THIS IS THE PLACE!"

MICHELLE from Texas:
"It was just as you described - just like home; comfortable. The setting is perfect: private and absolutely beautiful!"

JOSEPHINE from Tarrytown, NY:
"We had an amazing time--the place was absolutely perfect for our two families. I picked lots of delicious blackberries, the children played in the pine grove, we had fires in the fire circle and cooked hot dogs and s'mores, everyone took lovely naps, and we grilled on the BBQ. We also found great places to swim and hike in the area, including Jay Mountain just down the road as you mentioned. We were thrilled and dream about coming back already!"

KIRK & KAREN from Avon, NY:
"The place was perfect for us. A warm place to dry out and have a few beers after a day of playing in the snow. Thanks!"

COACH ED from Central NJ:
"Quiet and cozy accommodations with a gorgeous view and a nice fire in the fireplace! Lots of space for family fun! Liberty! Acres was just the right place!"

ZOE & TOM from Buffalo, NY:
"We all had an absolutely wonderful time at the cabin! Thanks for providing us with a cozy, friendly, and lovely place to spend Thanksgiving with family and friends."
