Wonderful 4-season adirondack lakefront log home on private and secluded Bass Lake, Franklin County. Bass Lake is a private, non-motorized, serene 8-acre lake. No jet skis to disturb your restful peace and quiet enjoyment of 450 feet of lakefront with your own private dock and screened gazebo.

The Lodge is a six bedroom, 3 bath house which can accommodate up to 15 guests at a time. On the first floor, the North Woods Suite has a king bed and en-suite bathroom with bathtub shower combination. The First Floor also has a great room with wood burning fireplace, kitchen /dining room. On the second floor is a full bathroom with shower and three bedrooms: the Skylight room has three skylights and a queen bed sleeping two; Huck's Hideaway has a montana log queen bed. and three twins, two of which are a trundle, and the Bear Cave has a bunk bed of two twins, Plus a queen. The ground level has the game room, with ping pong, propane fireplace, large screen TV, two bedrooms, Lakeview and the Pines, each with a new Cedar wood log queen, and a full bathroom with shower.

Three mile long Loon Lake is a private lake just down the road, with a beach and boat launch residents and guests at Bass Lake may enjoy. The Lodge is also close to Silver Lake, Rainbow Lake, miles of hiking, biking, paddling, and some of the best year round fishing in the area.

Plenty of winter sports as well: Cross country and downhill skiing, snowshoeing (we have a few pair in the Lodge), snowmobiling, and ice skaing. Located 20 miles north of Saranac Lake, 28 miles to world famous Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain, and about 30 minutes to quieter Titus Mountain - a wonderful family oriented ski resort. https://www.titusmountain.com/

Lake Placid, home of the 1980 Winter Olympics, is a thriving town with dining, shopping, and entertainment options. The town really comes alive in the winter, with speed skating on the outdoor oval at the high school, and toboggan runs down to the lake. The stores hold many interesting Adirondack crafts and antiques. Whiteface Mountain boasts over 283 acres of skiable terrain, 86 trails and 11 lifts. Experience the greatest vertical drop east of the Rockies at one of the Adirondack Mountain's legendary High Peaks. Whiteface is known for its beautiful panoramic mountain scenery, technical terrain, and award-winning family resort amenities; from beginner bunny trails to challenging expert terrain you will find there is skiing and snowboarding trails for all ages and abilities. At the end of a day on the slopes or the trails, relax and warm up next to our cast iron wood-burning stove in the living room, or watch a movie in the den.

Whether sitting at the kitchen table, before the expansive glass doors looking out to the lake, enjoying the sun on the wraparound porch deck, or relaxing in the screened in porch, the Lake is always in view. Enjoy the call of the loons while seated around the fire pit as the milky way shimmers overhead. The lake is pristine, clean, and clear; the bottom is sandy with a gradual drop off. For your use are a canoe, a kayak, a tandem pedal boat, as well as life jackets. There is a gas grill for cooking and an outdoor fire pit. In the den is a brand new (December 2020) LG 65 inch smart tv, an assortment of over 50 DVDs, fast new Starlink satellite internet connection, a digital piano keyboard for the kids, and a ping pong table in the basement.

There are many thousands of miles of hiking and biking trails right outside the door and we are in a great location for day hikes to some of the ADK high peaks or other beautiful mountains. Hiking books are available at the Lodge to plan your trip or ask us for recommendations. Locally famous is Crusher Mountain at the north end of Loon lake. It is a very short hike (15-20 minutes) to the top with a fabulous view of the entire lake and Whiteface Mountain in the background. Loon lake Mountain trailhead, a nice day hike, is three and a half miles down the road. The recently maintained and well-marked trail takes you up to one of the original Adirondack fire towers at the summit. This hike is about 6 miles round trip but offers amazing views of the wilderness. More strenuous hikes like Debar and Ampersand Mountain are 40 minutes away. For hard core adventurers, the high peaks wilderness is less than an hour away.

Go fishing on Loon Lake for Large Mouth bass, Small Mouth and Northern Pike! There are also places to fish for trout within 10 minutes of the Lodge.Take a day trip to Saranac Lake, or even Montreal. There are some great restaurants in town, lots of cool shops and many tourist attractions. Maybe take a trip back in time and ride the rails on the ADK Railroad. The Wild Center in Tupper Lake is a nature museum, which is fun for the whole family and is located about 35 minutes away. Even closer is the Paul Smith's Visitors Interpretive Center, which is a great place to see wildlife in nature and learn about the local ecology.The Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake is a gem, a great place for kids to learn about and experience the history and exceptional nature of the entire ADK region.

Rates

Base rate in summer season is $650 weeknights, $750 for friday and Saturday nights. 575/725 in off seasons. $65 per night per person supplement for occupancy exceeding 8. Max 15 guests. In summer season we book weekly, Sunday to Sunday. Sunday check in after 4 pm, check out following Sunday before 10am. Rest of year, 3 night minimum.
Holiday rates vary, please inquire. Feb 16-19 2024, $950 per night baase rate.
Check out is 10AM, check in 4pm, unless other arrangements are made in advance. We need this window to prepare the house to be as clean for the next guest as it was for you, and we thank you for your cooperation. Note that a 5% Franklin County Occupancy Tax is added to the total charges for each listing, with the exception of the security deposit for damages.

Pet Policy: Well behaved pets will be considered on an individual basis and with an additional fee of $400 for one dog and $800 for 2, with 2 dog max. Wet dogs in the tiled entry areas, on the kitchen floors,..fine. On hardwood floors and carpets...not so good. Please bring dog beds and towels as the dogs will enjoy the lake as much as you. Smoking Policy: There is absolutely NO SMOKING in the cabin or anywhere on the grounds. Please respect the pristine nature of the environment, and our neighbors on Bass Lake, and always endeavor to abide by ADK leave-no-trace principles. Evidence of smoking will result in forfeiture of your security deposit.
Cleaning Policy: There is no daily cleaning service. Please leave cabin in reasonably clean condition. Added to each rental is a $675 cleaning charge. There is an additional fee if unusual cleaning is required as determined by our housekeeping services.
Linen Policy: Linens and towels are provided, or you may choose to bring your own. Bring your own beach and doggy towels.
Security Deposit Information: A non-refundable reservation deposit of $1000 ($1500 if your pet/s are coming) holds cabin.
50% of rental due on booking and the remaining 50% is due 60 days before check in.
Reservation Deposit turns into your Security Damage Deposit upon check in and will be returned within 5 days of check out, less unusual cleaning and/or damages. Please leave the Lodge in the same condition as you found it.
No cancellation refunds after date 60 days prior to check in.

Why our property is special: Tucked away in a relatively quiet location in Saranac Lake region, yet in easy proximity to all of the natural wonders the Adirondacks have to offer. Be as active or relaxed as you wish. Extremely quiet non-motorized Bass Lake, with access to Loon Lake. Hike to Lookout Mountain from your doorstep, or Hike Crusher snd Loon Lake Mountain a short drive down Rt. 26, Ampersand in Sarance Lake, or the high peaks within a short drive.
