Our land of 44 lakes has a number of hiking trails, from shorter 1.5 mile hikes to advanced, multi-day adventures. Discover hidden waterfalls and historic sites. Take in the view from a fire tower, go fishing, or hike to a lean-to . Play 18 holes of golf at Nick Stoner! Take your pick from over 100 shops and restaurants set in quiet, rural towns within short driving distances.
Why our property is special: E. Stoner Lake, being smaller than some of the other Adirondack lakes, offers a quieter atmosphere, if that's what you're looking for. “Our stay at Macs Landing was wonderful. The owner provides everything you need to have an amazing time on a lake: kayaks, paddle boat, floats, etc.. The lake is directly in front of the house across a gravel private road. The stone patio with fireplace and grill was perfect! We enjoyed making smores!! Ive rented several houses before but never had an owner provide so many items within the house!!! The house was comfortable and large enough for the 4 of us. (Two pre-teens incl ). The best part was the enclosed porch where we ate all our meals. In fact, we had such a good time we are returning next year!!”

“Mac's Landing was supremely comfortable for our group of four (one couple and two friends). It was delightful sitting on the dock, and we took advantage of the included boats. The house had plenty of room for all of us, and the two full bathrooms were a definite plus. The screened terrace overlooking the lake was where we enjoyed memorable meals, most cooked over the gas grill and using fresh local produce. At night after a fire in the fire pit we went down to the dock for an amazing star show. We also explored some of the area's many hiking trails, and the interesting Caroga Museum, an open air history museum.”
Owner's Response
“Thank you for staying with us. Glad you enjoyed your time in the Adirondacks!”

“We had a wonderful time at Mac's Landing. The cottage was adorable, clean, and well-appointed, and the location was incredible. Our hosts were very thoughtful in considering all of the "extras" that one may need: tissues, soap, dish towels, etc., and even a basket full of spices. We used the grill and fire pit every evening, and appreciated that there was firewood available to use for our first evening until we could venture out to get some. The weather was perfect, the evening skies were clear, and we were lucky to see some shooting stars from the Perseid meteor shower. Our family used the kayaks, the paddle boat, and the floats. We enjoyed swimming right off our dock; the lake was beautiful, warm, and clear. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was spacious, and the screened front porch was serene. We loved seeing the loons and listening to their beautiful call. We come to the Adirondacks every summer and always bring our dog, so finding a rental that allows pets is a huge requirement for our family, and is greatly appreciated. At Mac's Landing, there is a spacious yard with room to run and chase a ball. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was absolutely perfect, and we would love to come back.”
Owner's Response
“Thank you! Hope to see you again!”

“We had a great time. All the extra amenities: tissues, sheets, soap etc. were very thoughtful. The BBQ and picnic table out back were so helpful and convenient. The kayaks and the paddle boat were a big hit. We swam in the lake right by our dock. Great water floats for lounging in the water. The beds and seating arrangements were very comfortable. Everything was perfect. We hope to come again!”

“Staying here at this cottage along Stoner Lake in the Southern Adirondacks was a step back in time to a slower pace, sprinkled with the morning songs of the loons, the whispers of the pines, and visits with friendly neighbors, many of whom have been summering at the lake for several generations. The owners were kind, caring, and responsive to requests and concerns. We had lived in this area before, and returning to the Caroga Lake area was like coming home. We wouldn't hesitate to return to this cottage, lake, and region again. Thank you for a wonderful stay. ”
