This historic boathouse was once a part of the Twitchell Lake Inn complex. The Inn built by famous Adirondack builder Earl Covey, build a series of cabins and the boathouse to accommodate paying guests. The Inn is considered a Great Camp and you will be right next door to the privately owned property. Our boathouse still has some of Covey's original furniture including dressers, a table and the key rack used for the cabins. We are trying to maintain this boathouse with its original charm. We hav …e seven bedrooms, one of which is a dedicated work space. Four bedrooms are right on the lake and all bedrooms are upstairs. In addition, there is an upstairs exit that takes you down to our spacious dock. We have five queen beds and a set of twin beds.
We have a large eat in kitchen with a view of the lake at dinner. The living rooms charm is enhanced by a beautiful stone fireplace made with local pink and gray granite. There is additional dining on the dock. Here you can enjoy swimming, boating, floating, fishing and relaxing. We have some local trails that you can walk to South Pond, Big Rock, Silver Lake, and Razorback Pond. No car needed. You can ski, tube, fish and kayak on Twitchell Lake.
Our kitchen has a all-new small appliances. We will have basic spices, cooking oil, paper goods, hand soap, dish soap, garbage bags, some paper towels and toilet paper, and other basic kitchen necessities.
We have a large variety of board games, puzzles, legos, duplos and some magnetic tiles. We also have a good selection of fiction books.

You are literally, on the water. Perfect for a pre breakfast swim.

Twitchell Lake is just over two miles long and perfect for kayaking and skiing. We have a direct line to rentals which we can arrange. We are about 8 miles to Eagle Bay and an additional 2 miles to Inlet. We have three great restaurants within minutes, the Little Fox, Big Moose Station and the Glenmore. In Eagle Bay there is a great place called Up North. There are additional family friendly hikes around Moss Lake and Cascade.
There is a state landing at the end of the lake where you can launch your boat and is the beginning of the trail to Razorback Pond. Our private gravel road is perfect for children to walk or bike on. And just off Twitchell Rd (paved) there is a short hike to a beautiful waterfall we call Big Rock. We are about 25 minutes to Enchanted Forest Water Safari and the town of Old Forge.

We have all brand-new small appliances including an air fryer and Keurig, please bring your own pods. We also have a drip coffee maker. We have two full-sized refrigerators. Toaster, blender, microwave, mixer, and all the dishware you need.

Our rate is $425 per night with a four night minimum. Check-in is 4:00 pm check out is 10:30 am. Full week rental gets a 10% discount. Plus $150 cleaning fee.

Smoking Policy: No smoking in the building, and no candles. We supply plenty of flashlights.
Cleaning Policy: We would like our home to be treated as your own. All dishes should be washed and put away, towels should be put in the bathroom hamper, we have a cleaning service but with only a few hours in between check ins we expect a tidy building. Counter tops wiped, floors swept. No need to make up the beds as we will remake but please do not put any of the linens on the floor.
Linen Policy: We supply sheets and bathroom towels, please bring your own beach towels for swimming.
Security Deposit Information: Secure with a $1000 deposit, remainder plus tax due two days before check in.

About Us: We have been on Twitchell for almost 40 years and raised our children here. It has a very special place in our hearts. We are both retired and are caretakers for several families on Big Moose and provide housekeeping as well. We have two adult children who call this lake home.

Why we think you will enjoy staying in Twitchell Lake: Twitchell lake is full of history, local trails, beautiful sunrises and sunsets, Our bedrooms are beautiful and spacious, the Boathouse has that old world charm with all the necessary comforts of home. We are excited to share our little piece of heaven. One of our favorite things to do is, on a clear night if you lay on the dock the stars go on forever.... At night you will hear the loons call to each other, bullfrogs will serenade loudly, and an occasional owl.
