There is lots of great hiking nearby, at Rattlesnake Mountain, an easy to moderate climb with views of Lake Champlain, New York's High Peaks area, and Vermont's Green Mountains. Poke-O-Moonshine Mountain is also close by. Ausable Chasm,15 minutes away, is one of the U.S.'s oldest natural attractions. Hike, float or climb amidst the primeval Adirondack forests, with waterfalls, a cave and the serene Mystic Gorge.
Explore the many quaint towns in the area, with farmer's markets, orchards, wineries, and craft fairs weekly.

Why we think you will enjoy staying in Long Pond: Long Pond is a gorgeous 400 acre lake that is full of fish to please all the anglers, close to many Adirondack hiking trails such as Poke-O-Moonshine Mountain & Rattlesnake Mountain, an hours' drive to Lake Placid, 10 miles to Ausable Chasm, known as the "Grand Canyon of the Adirondacks". The house is secluded, surrounded by a forest, & the area is quiet, perfect for canoeing & kayaking. Many points along the shores of, and a ferry ride across, Lake Champlain are within 15 to 30 minutes away.
Why our property is special: Our home has everything you will need for a relaxing vacation. A fully equipped kitchen, 4 kayaks, 2 canoes, fishing equipment, a dock, life vests, a hot tub overlooking the lake, and a walkout basement with exercise equipment and games galore! Everyone will find something to do here! There is a large firepit, for making s'mores while telling stories around the campfire and watching for fireflies in the evening. (No stories? We have plenty of short stories and books about the Adirondacks.)
