“My family and I have vacationed at Beaver Brook every Summer for more than a decade, and I can attest to the accuracy of the property description on Adirondack By Owner. It's truly a special spot in the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks, tucked away and completely private, but accessible to all of the outdoor activities the High Peaks region has to offer. You are also just a short drive into the picturesque village of Lake Placid where you can stock up on all of the amenities for your stay. The house is comfortable and lovely with spectacular views, a long porch overlooking a meadow, a pond and the mountains, and a large screened in porch where we've spent many evening dinners as the sun set and the stars emerged. The property sits on 43 wooded acres with several trails snaking through the woods, and a secluded swimming pond at one trails end. A recent addition is a new outdoor shower. The owner is wonderful, and has a deep commitment to the property and to the comfort of his guests. ”

“Beaver Brook is a wonderful rental property! It was exceptionally clean and maintained. Bedrooms were large with comfortable beds. Living areas were also spacious. The owner communicated very well and gave lots of useful information to make our stay carefree. Total privacy (except for many deer and a few turkeys) with marked nature trails, two ponds and a beautiful fire pit. We loved the outdoor shower!! Upstairs bedrooms have no curtains which in June made for very early rising by the kids.. Wi-fi is strong enough for personal use but probably not for work. Verizon cell phone service was excellent. We totally enjoyed our stay.”

“Our family with 3 kids (ages 4, 6, 8) had a wonderful stay at Beaver Brook. It is a beautiful home with comfortable beds. There is a covered and screened porch with open views of the mountains and the meadow. We found it to be gorgeous for reading and chatting and the kids loved playing there. The library is a treasure. Everyone in our household from kids to adults found something to read and re-read. On clear nights, it was delightful to watch the night sky from the large deck and to get a magnificent view of the Milky Way. We walked all the trails and were happy that the trails were well marked and maintained. The map at the house was very helpful in finding the pond, although we did not swim in it. The whole property is scenic, secluded and very well maintained. Despite its seclusion, it is only a 10 minute drive to the stores and the gas station in Wilmington.”

“Our family recently had the great experience of renting Beaverbrook. We all loved the entire property! The house is spacious and beautiful and the furnishings are beautiful too! We walked the trails and my granddaughter and her friend swam in our own private pond! We especially loved the view, the visiting deer and turkeys, the girls loved playing ping pong in the basement and we loved playing games on the screened in porch and eating dinner there. The property is beautiful and serene yet only a few minutes from ice cream( our favorite!) and any amenities you might want. And plenty of activities in the area. We cant wait to visit again!!”

“Our family, from grandparents to our two grandchildren, ages 3 and 7, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beaver Brook, and all agreed that we would like to stay there again next summer. The house and the property both well exceeded our expectations. We all kept marveling at the roominess, cleanliness and great condition of the house and its furnishings, and the terrific views, especially out over the meadow and pond and to the mountains. To be there is just spectacular, and words and pictures are just a taste of the real thing! Just about every one of us hiked the paths and munched the blueberries. The spacious rooms, the use of rich wood throughout, the abundant comfortable pieces of furniture for sitting throughout the main living level and the atmosphere of serenity were very pleasing, and enjoyed by all of us. The house was cleaner than any place we've rented in the past, and we've been renting in the Adk's for over 30 years. ”

“This is a tranquil and beautiful location, it is close to Wilmington and Lake Placid with only a short drive to each. The porches are great family gathering places. My grandchildren enjoyed playing and swimming at the pond. Definitely recommend it for families. ”

“What a FANTASTIC place. We have stayed at many places in the Adirondack and found Beaver Brook to be the most relaxing and beautiful. The east pond was a favorite, and it is as secluded, private and out of view as described (not mucky, no weeds and has a sandy bottom). The house is great, comfortable, well built, quiet, maintained and CLEAN - lots of character. Another pleasant surprise was full cell phone and wireless laptop service, if you have Verizon - the tower/antenna is hiding on adjacent mountain top. One person with us had spotty service with AT&T. You wont be disappointed with this choice; we weren't and can't wait to return.”

“Beaver Brook is every bit as beautiful and relaxing as the pictures on the web site. Our family of four (including two teenage boys) stayed here for a week and loved it. The house is very open and comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped. Bedrooms comfortable. Be aware that there is no internet connection or cable TV and cell phone coverage is poor. This is a place to get away from all that. The setting is spectacular! My favorite spot was the screened porch which has a picnic table for dining. It looks out over a meadow with mountains in the distance. The cabin is secluded but also convenient to small town of Wilmington for groceries and restaurants. I would highly recommend Beaver Brook to anybody looking for a nice spot to stay in the Adirondacks. ”

“First class accommodations in a beautiful setting. We arrived late but immediately went skiing in the woods. Great kitchen (many a happy meal), bedrooms, visiting space, library, exercise room and that lovable wood stove. The garage was a big plus during our winter stay. But the view out the living room window to the mountain in early morning, different every day, was our fondest memory. A fair price. Highly recommended.”

“Beaver Brook was a perfect place to hold our family reunion with seven adults. The first floor with a master bedroom and bath was ideal for our 92-year-old mother who does not climb stairs very well. The house has large size bedrooms. Every night we held a ping pong tournament in the basement. But the icing on the cake was the beautiful setting - getting up in the morning and looking out at the meadow, watching the deer and the wild turkey, was heaven. We loved hiking the area and even picked berries for a blackberry cobbler. The only drawback was a pump in the basement that went on every 5 mins or so. However, after the first day we were all use to hearing it. I understand from the owner that the pump has been fixed. I highly recommend Beaver Brook. We found it a delight.”

“Beaver Brook is our favorite Adirondack retreat EVAH! While not right on a lake, which many ADK visitors long for, I can attest that it has 43 acres of meadows, two small ponds (one swimmable), woodlands, wetlands, HUMUNGOUS catchable frogs, fishing Great Blue Herons, breeding Wild Turkeys, MINK, did I say MINK?, plenty of space, and more. The most peaceful and secluded place we've stayed yet. We long to return. ”
