“Exactly as advertised. Clean and well kept with a perfect location on the lake. Dock is sturdy. Firepit works and plenty of seats are provided to enjoy the outdoors. The home is well-equipped and it was nice to have a/c on those muggy nights. Only a few miles from town, which was great so that we didn't have to remember to bring or buy everything before arriving. Owners are next door and helpful but not intrusive. We are a family of 4 with two teenagers and we found the accommodations large enough to accommodate us comfortably. Would highly recommend.”

“My family and I stayed for a week and had a great time. The owners were very helpful and friendly and located just next door - they even offered to pull me skiing behind their boat! Although we chatted several times, they were also very respectful of our privacy during the stay so it is up to you how much you would like to interact. The cabin was exceptionally clean and fully stocked with necessities. As for the area - I recommend visiting Fort Ticonderoga. Thank you Carl and Eileen for a relaxing week!”

“The cottage was well kept and well stocked. The front deck looked directly over the lake and the front yard. There were multiple places to sit and relax with a fire pit ready to enjoy. Finally, the owners could not have been more kind. We joined their company to do s'mores, they brought play items over for the grandkids, they even taught our grandson to kayak. He and we were thrilled. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rental along a lovely quiet portion of Lake George.”
Owner's Response
“Thank you very much for your kind comments. We really enjoyed meeting you and your family and hope you all make it to the lake again. It's a special place.”

“I had two relaxing weeks on a peaceful part of Lake George here. It's a quick jaunt to town, Carl and Eileen were right next door and always ready to help with absolutely anything, but the property allows for great privacy. They are lovely people and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.”
Owner's Response
“Thanks for staying with us. We've always enjoyed the advantages of being close to stores yet having the privacy of the location on the lake. We hope you visit again!”

“My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Rising Sun! After missing our annual trip to Lake George last year and being unable to rent the home we usually stay at, I was tasked with finding a new rental. From the moment I contacted Carl, he was responsive, detailed and the process was smooth. We like the north end of the lake and the location is great. We launch our boat at Mossy Point and the cottage is only a short distance away with a dock that accommodated our 24' boat. The cottage is as described and has everything you need. It is also very clean and well maintained. The views and sunrises are beautiful and we enjoyed sitting by the fire at night. The home was perfect for us. Carl and Eileen are so nice and from start to finish, make sure everything is ready for you. It was truly an enjoyable week. Thank you for sharing your piece of Lake George with us! ”

“This is a beautiful property in a nice quiet area of lake george. Great location with direct access to the water, great fishing in the area, close to hiking, restaurants etc. Watching the sunrise over the mountains directly across the lake from the porch was a great way to start each day! Overall great experience and the owners are very kind and helpful people. I would love to return here again!”

“My husband & I had the pleasant of renting this lovely cottage on Lake George for the week of our 31st anniversary. Upon arriving we found a unique home with a lovely view of the water from the front porch and dock. We were lucky enough to find fire wood close by & had a fire in the pit most every night. We also rental a boat from Snug Harbor Marina for 5 of the days, not 5 minutes drive from the rental. We were on the boat every day and took that boat to many fine restaurants along the lake. Another of our excursion was to Adirondack ATV Tours near Whitehall, NY, only 40 minutes away. This was only our 2nd time riding ATV's, we had a blast. A must for those with an adventurous soul. The rental itself was small, but had EVERYTHING we needed for the week, except towels & sheets of course. We were very comfortable, as we mainly wanted a peaceful relaxing vacation. Eileen & Carl are a lovely couple. We got to speak with them a few times, but they were never intrusive. If you want to be away from the fast paced touristy area of southern Lake George, but still close enough to enjoy it at YOUR leisure, this is your place. The drive along RT 9 is beautiful, there are plenty of shopping & eating establishments along the way. There is a Walmart in Ticonderoga for all your needs. A great place to pick up pizza called House of Pizza and a breakfast place called Hot Biscuit Diner that we truly enjoyed. Would highly recommend renting this cottage from these two nice folks.”

“Our "waterfront escape" experience was everything we expected and more. The views from the deck were incredible and a perfect place for our morning coffee. The northern part of the lake is very quiet and relaxing. We spent a lot of our time exploring the area which included hiking, boating and visiting nearby Ft Ticonderoga. I can't say enough good things about the owner Carl and his family. Not long after we arrived, they felt like family to us. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who enjoys a beautiful setting with a family oriented environment. ”

“My family which consisted of a 8, 6 year old and a toddler loved our stay at this cottage. There was enough space for all 5 of us and the younger ones loved the bunk beds. Fishing was fun and exciting for the children right off the dock. They also enjoyed swimming right off the dock, the water is so close! We enjoyed the fire pit every night and you have a great view of the lake. The area was very quiet and peaceful. The owners are very nice and are right next door if you have any problems. We look forward to staying here again on future Lake George Vacations.”
Owner's Response
“We sure enjoyed meeting you and your family and hope to see you again. It is very enjoyable to see memories being made that will last a lifetime. Our own kids are now grown but return every year with their families so their kids can have similar experiences with water sports, family camp fires, and hiking in the mountains.”

“This place was perfect. It's right on the water with a pier and an awesome fire pit. My kids loved staying here. There are rafts and inner tubes for the daytime, and puzzles and board games for evening time (plus cable tv, not that you need it!). It's just a few minutes drive into town. Carl and Eileen had great suggestions of kid-friendly events and hiking trails. We took the canoe out, went swimming, made countless smores. Definitely recommend this place!”
Owner's Response
“So glad to hear you had such a great time. One thing about a vacation like this is that you can make it as active or passive as you like. We always leaned towards the active side too ... so much so that we tended to go back to work to recuperate! Hope we have to opportunity to meet again.”

“This cottage lived up to everything we were looking for in a place on Lake George. So much to do close by from swimming off the dock, early morning kayak rides exploring the lake, mountain trail within walking distance to get great views of the lakes and valley. We rented a boat at a near by marina for a few days but had just as much fun without it. The weather was perfect and the lake felt great after 90 degree days to cool off. The cottage itself had everything a family would need and was quite comfortable for the 4 of us. I will say that what truly impressed me and my family was how much we felt at home and part of the family. This is definitely a place that we will come back to. ”

“This cottage was perfect for my husband, son (9), daughter (6), and I. The house was cozy, comfortable, and well stocked. We towed our boat all the way from south jersey. It was very easy to get it inspected and ride it to the dock. My husband went fishing every morning before the rest of us were out of bed. We hiked, swam, kayaked, canoed, and spent lovely evenings by the fire pit. It was the perfect spot for quiet, quality family time. With plenty of action-packed activity under an hour. The weather is comfortable, there are no bugs (a big factor for mom), and although it rained 2 days, the cottage had plenty of entertainment. The owners were next door, so pleasant and hospitable. We will definitely make it back there one day. Perhaps next time in the fall in order to capture the breathtaking mountain views in all their fall foliage glory!!!”

“Very nice cottage for a wholesome and fun filled family vacation. It was perfectly suited for our family and we loved being next to the water and having a dock at our disposal. The owners were some of the most outgoing, friendly, and accomodating people we ever met. The next door neighbor was also very friendly. We highly recommend this place to everyone and we can't wait to go back.”
