“Overlook is a fantastic lake house, and the owners are wonderful. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and very well maintained. Views of the lake and mountains are framed in almost every room. There is a whole range of outdoor seating with two decks, fire pit, dock, and two sandy beaches. Plus, there are three kayaks, a canoe, and two paddle boards ready for use. Parking is generous with more than enough room to play ladder ball or cornhole. The house is quite new, especially for an Adirondack camp, and has a craftsman feel with very tasteful Adirondack decorations. Overlook receives the highest recommendation from our family. ”

“Our stay at Overlook this year was a dream. The house is so well stocked, beautifully set up, and the best possible location for a relaxing ADK week. We took advantage of all it had to offer from sunning on the dock, to campfires at the fire circle to kayaking the lake. The owners are so responsive and checked in on us and were always available if we had a question. We will stay here again. Trying to line up our crew and dates for next year as I type this review. You cannot go wrong renting this house or staying in this location. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home!! Until next year....”

“We just completed our fourth stay at Overlook; we have rented since 2016, and have already reserved for 2021. This is a beautiful property, well appointed, professionally cleaned prior to arrival, peaceful location. The views from the decks, the dock and beach are amazing. The house is set up so all you really need to bring are your clothes, toothbrush and food. It is spacious, but also cozy with appliances that are up to date, comfortable beds and furnishings, laundry and linen facilities, games and books. Long Lake is a perfect location within the park, a town that still has the true Adirondack feel with modern conveniences. The owners are wonderful to work with, kind and very attentive to the needs of their guests.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Overlook. We stayed for a week in early October to photograph fall colors in the Adirondacks which was outstanding. The location of Overlook is perfect, end of road privacy, a forest setting, and a beautiful view of Long Lake from multiple decks, a great place to unwind! The home has been impeccably maintained and well stocked with everything you could need, and some things you would never have thought of. The owner's attention to detail is the best we have seen in a rental property. We made the rental arrangements directly with the owner which was very smooth. The owner checked on us during the stay to make sure we were comfortable, which was a very nice touch. We highly recommend Overlook and the Adirondacks in the Fall!”

“I enjoyed every second at this lovely lakefront property. The home is beautiful, well kept and has many amenities to make for an enjoyable visit. Everything is well thought out and organized. From the welcome slate on the door, cookies on the counter to paddle boards on the beach, everything is at your feet so to speak. I loved my morning coffee on the dock, watching the loons swim by. At dusk making a fire on the private beach while eating smores was a perfect ending to a Adirondack day.We had a wonderful stay and much of that was due to the property, amenities, organization and care of the property owners. ”

“This has been our third year at Overlook, and we continue to be very happy with our experience. Marc and Christine, the property owners, are wonderful, the house is clean and inviting, and the property is lovely. Our adult children join us, along with two young grandchildren, and everyone just loves our week at Overlook. We are already looking forward to next year. It's so nice to go to a familiar and welcoming place, year after year. We consider ourselves lucky to have found Overlook!”

“Overlook is a very beautiful vacation home located on Long Lake. The "camp" comes with every amenity imagineable. Marc & Christine do a thorough job of stocking the home with everything necessary to have a great vacation. My favorite time was sitting on the deck early morning with a cup of coffee and just looking out onto Long Lake as the sun rose above the mountains....just spectacular. We had 6 people and 2 canine friends with us; Overlook accommodated us nicely. The spacious dining area was frequented by my family and was board game central in the evening. My whole family enjoyed our time at Overlook. I would highly recommend it to house your next ADK vacation. ”

“Overlook exceeded our expectations. It is a beautiful house with an amazing view. The house had everything we needed (and more - the owners thought of everything) - we just brought clothes and food. Worry free, relaxing, and fun. It felt very private, too. The paddle boats and kayaks were our favorite part, and swimming in the lake was so refreshing after a day of hiking. The location is perfect - off the beaten path, but near enough to all the things you want to do. Or, you can just soak up the charming small town vibe in Long Lake. We miss waking up to the lake each morning - hopefully, we'll be back again!”

“Having never visited this camp before, we were surprised and delighted by the comfort, convenience and design of the Overlook. The location is ideal, and the extras provided by the owners were extraordinary. I must admit that all of my previous visits to rental camps at Long Lake over the past 50 years were "rustic" at best - so the Overlook was a very happy surprise.”

“I can't say enough about this beautiful home!
First off - the location is perfect - both the general area, and the location of the house on the lake. While there are other homes nearby, the foliage makes it feel private and secluded. It's close enough to town to walk or even row over to hang out at the public beach. Of course, you don't need to go to the public beach, since there is a lovely private beach right on the property. The landscaping is gorgeous,and we enjoyed spending time on the beach, the dock, the firepit are and the decks.
The house itself was perfect for our family. There was plenty of room to spread out and not feel crowded. The owners have done a wonderful job of making sure that your every need is provided for - the kitchen is well appointed, the entertainment is plentiful, with games, TV, wifi, movies, and sonos system.
Having access to the kayaks and paddleboards was a huge bonus. We always bring our own two, but it was great that the extra meant we could all enjoy watersports at once rather than taking turns.
The owners were great to work with and very responsive and helpful. The little touches that they put this house at the top of my list of favorites - the coffee/tea/cocoa cart was adorable and much appreciated. The smores bar, the library of books and magazines, etc were all a wonderful addition. We learned quickly that we needn't have packed many of the things we did, because the house had everything we needed. And it's a small thing, but the welcome sign was a sweet touch after a long drive.
For the first time in my years of vacationing, we left wanting to go back to the same place next year. We;re counting the days until next June!”

“WOW! This is a beautiful home, wonderful location, all amenities for guest comfort are provided. The furnishings are in excellent condition, view of the lake is fantastic, the beds are very comfortable, the linens are premium quality. The house is spacious, which allowed for plenty of room for our group of 7 people. The kitchen appliances are modern, the home was immaculate upon arrival. Several wonderful "extras" make this a very special place; a well stocked coffee/tea/liqueur bar for guests to enjoy, kayaks, delightful hand soaps at the sinks, a fire pit with lots of firewood, s'more fixings, spices and condiments. The owner was very responsive and great to work with. We highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Long Lake area.”

“Our vacation at the Outlook was wonderful. A beautiful home on Long Lake. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards, my two young granddaughters loved the property's sandy beach. We enjoyed the quiet starlit nights .The home was well furnished .The owners very generous and easy to communicate with.We are very grateful to Chris and Marc for a vrey memorable week .”

“Overlook is sheer magic. We've rented in the Adirondacks for over two decades but have never enjoyed the overall experience we encountered at Overlook as much, anywhere else. The proximity to Long Lake, the views from each of the decks, the construction, features and overall vibe of the house.........perfect. The privacy of the waterfront, dock and beach.......wonderful. Nights around the campfire on the stone patio......exceptional. Our future plan...............return each summer as long as the owners will let us!”

“LOVE THIS LAKEHOUSE!!! Stayed for a week in July with my husband, 2 year old daughter, my parents, and brother. More than enough space for everyone, comfortable beds and linens, wonderful large living space to relax in. We had, unfortunately, the only cold and rainy week of July, so we spent a lot of time indoors and were thankful for the well-stocked game closet and comfortable living room, wi-fi enabled TV, and DVD collection.
On the few nice days we had, we loved using the kayaks to explore Long Lake, including paddling over to the town beach. My 2 year old loved the little private, quiet sandy beach on the property, as did the rest of us. We were able to walk to town for shopping and ice cream, and only a short drive from several great hikes.
Kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils, all the basic pantry supplies for cooking at home, and even had a crockpot and smoothie blender. Owners thought of every little detail in this house, even leaving s'mores supplies and sticks by the back door.
Only drawback is the stone stairs, and only if you have small children or adults with knee/back pain. The house is high up on a hill, providing a gorgeous elevated view of the lake and plenty of privacy, and multiple levels (the deck, comfortable hammock chairs under the deck, the fire pit area, the dock, and the beach) to hang out on, but quite a bit of climbing up and down steep stairs. Couldn't let my 2 year old do it herself and got quite the workout carrying her up and down each time. Again, only a negative if you have small children or issues with stairs.
Owners were super responsive if there was anything we needed or had questions about, and also provided great tips on where to go and things to see. There's a notebook full of suggestions for restaurants, hikes, sites to see, and a basket full of pamphlets as well.
Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more beautiful weather, but there's always next year!”

“This is an awesome property!! If you are looking for the perfect get away vacation home you just have to check out Overlook at Long Lake! This place has it all-- the best views; seclusion and privacy; best access to the lake; walking distance to shops, hotel, etc., as well as all modern amenities to make your stay not only comfortable but highly relaxing. The owners have gone out of their way to provide everything you will need to make your stay everything you would ever want it to be. We hope to return again very soon!!”

“We have rented for a few years in the Adirondacks, all the while looking for a place we would like to come back to year after year. We have found it! First, all of our communication with the owners has been warm and friendly. Upon our arrival, the hospitality of the owners was everywhere. They paid great attention to detail, providing little extras that made our stay so nice. The house was spotless and very comfortable. We cooked most of our dinners at the house, and enjoyed the company of our family while taking in the beauty of Long Lake. There are so many places to relax and enjoy the view and fresh air: a small balcony off the master bedroom, wonderful decks, and my favorite, a stone patio near the lake. We took advantage of the canoe, paddle boards, and kayaks, all provided by the owners. Our young granddaughter loved the private little beach. We were absolutely, 100% satisfied with our stay, and wish the owners nothing but the best!”

“"Heaven" on earth. The elevation of the house and decks overlooking the lake are the stuff of coffee table picture books. The beds are comfortable for both young and old as well as the living areas. Wonderful trails through the woods and the smell of balsam everywhere. Forget about fancy fishing gear, 2 and 3 lb small mouth bass using a hook and night crawler right off the dock worked just fine. The owners are very accommodating and asked us if the lack of cable and wifi were a problem, we said not really but if that's a problem with the reader it may be rectified in time. Loved the "house on the hill" and look forward to coming back. Thanks again! ”

“We loved the web representations of the place, but held our accolades until we actually arrived and explored the house and waterfront. Without exaggeration, we were thrilled. Very clean, appointed like a place you would want to live in, situated on a steep bank facing north on Long Lake. Great view of the lake and eastern shore of wooded mountain.
The chairs inside and out art top quality and the gas fired stone fireplace is easy and safe to operate and provides decent heat.
All amenities listed on the website are provided in duplicate, and all are in good condition. The kayaks are of recent design and are well worth the effort of hauling them down the steep stone steps to the beach for easy launching. Carrying them back up to the house is another matter--too much for my 66 year old cousin and me to accomplish.
Most, we liked the proximity to town while having the "deep in th woods" feel of privacy. So glad we persisted on renting this place.”

“This was an amazing property at an amazing location - lives up to the picutres and more!
We stayed for a week with our young adult children and it was perfect. The house was beautiful, spacious, comfortable and clean and provided everything we needed and more.
The outdoor spaces were also fantastic and we took full advantage of several multilevel deck spaces, dock and fire-pit area. Lots of steps leading to the water area, so might not be the ideal place for very young children. Close to town but extremely quiet and private - beautiful spot on the lake with gorgeous views. Worth every penny of the rental price.
Owners were very communicative and easy to do business with - they made us feel very welcome!”
