“We rented the cabin starting Christmas Eve and stayed for 4 nights. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Christmas tree up and many holiday decorations and lights! The house is cute with a fun basement( even though we did not use it) We were a family of five adults and It suited us well as a base. We skied at Whiteface, went on a hike, ice skated in Placid twice and went into town to check it out. We brought all of our own food, spices, napkins and such. The kitchen is well stocked. There were enough plates, mugs, glasses and pots and pans for our needs. There was no toiletries in any of the bathrooms, like shampoo, body soap, conditioner or lotion, so just be sure to bring your own. The living room is cozy if you have 5 adults. Bedrooms are a good size and beds were comfortable. ”

We try to supply everything for our guests, including linens, paper products, kitchen and cookware, etc. We don’t usually supply bath products (I don’t think we advertise that we do…) so we apologize if it was an inconvenience for you and your family. Please consider us if you should travel to the Adirondacks in the future.

“We had a wonderful time staying at Barefoot Cabin! The porch was awesome to sit on and look at the stars and listen to the owls. We had ping pong tournaments and family dinners, The kitchen was very well stocked and the bedrooms and bathrooms were gorgeous. The proximity to Whiteface made the views spectacular! This is a great home to rent for a family. ”

“My family and I had a wonderful time at this perfectly located, cozy cabin. The surrounding woods and fall colors made it hard to leave. Great kitchen and super fun games in the basement made our stay that much more enjoyable.”

“Our family enjoyed our stay at the Bearfoot cabin . It was conveniently located but still secluded . Perfectly decorated and well equipped . We especially enjoyed sitting on the front porch . Judy was very easy to work with and we hope to get back ! ”

“Our family of six had a wonderful time at Bearfoot Cabin. The home is very comfortable, is in a private location, and has everything you need to relax and enjoy your visit. It is just a short, scenic drive to Lake Placid and is the perfect place to stay to explore all the area has to offer. We look forward to returning in the future.”

“Very much enjoyed the Bearfoot Cabin. Rented on short notice and the Owners were very accommodating. Extraordinary furnishings and very much the Adirondack Cabin warm feeling.
Great location for visiting and exploring Lake Placid and the surrounding area. Great firepit for campfires.”

“Amazing vacation cabin very spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed. Well stocked with everything one would need. Very private with great location for sightseeing attractions of the area. The owner has paid great attention to detail and provides their guest with a homey, comfortable retreat. We greatly enjoyed our stay at Bearfoot Cabin and are looking forward to returning.”

“Barefoot cabin was a perfect spot for our summer getaway with my daughter and her 2 yr. old grandson. The backyard is big and great for exploring and also for relaxing. We made several fires in the backyard fire pit and enjoyed making smores!The house was very clean and comfortable. We didnt use the basement game room but I bet it would be fun with older kids. The house is in a great location. Its nice and private. It also has a beautiful front porch which was a perfect spot for morning coffee. We did a few family friendly hikes but honestly it was so comfortable back at the house we didnt feel the need to go out and about. I highly recommend this rental!”
