“This is a lovely old-style summer house in a perfect location! It was perfect for our large family group. The owners and caretaker are responsive and easy to work with. The house is close to town, but feels nicely remote due to the way the house is placed and the location down a quiet dirt road on a less-crowded part of Lake Placid. Sitting on the porch or boat house dock and listening to (and watching) the loons is wonderful, and the kids were happy all day swimming and paddle boarding off the dock. ”

“A great lake house rental. We had 3 generations and used all of the bedrooms. Very comfortable and close to town. We had a great time talking and playing games and puzzles in the living room. Kitchen was useful. There are a lot of steps to the lake but a great view from there. The youngsters enjoyed swimming and many used the canoes. Not recommended for very young children. The owner instructions were very helpful.”

“We have really enjoyed our last 2 visits to the camp (in 2010 & 2011). The house is well-equipped to handle large groups (plenty of beds, plus toys, games & books for young & old). We especially love that the original character of the house is still there---modern conveniences have been added without sacrificing the 'camp' feel. It is great fun to read the guest log book (dating back over 80 years). We look forward to our return in 2012.”
Owner's Response
“Thanks for taking the time to do this--hope you have a great week in 2012! Julia Frank”
