“It was a perfect two week rental. The house is located right on the water and close to all town amenities. The home and property were very clean and welcoming. The kitchen has the basic necessities but I did bring my own French press for coffee and tea kettle for hot water. The owner is upfront about bringing your own linens, including all bedding, towels, bath mat and kitchen towels. We also brought our golden retriever but made sure to poop scoop and vacuum daily. The only negative is the size of the shower. My sons and husband are all over 6 feet and found it claustrophobic but doable.The house was what we were looking for in a quiet setting. There are renters on either side of the home as well but it seems to be an area that families come back to year after year. I would definitely rent again and next year we are planning for 3 weeks.”

“Another fantastic week at camp. This camp provides everything we look for and that's why we keep coming back year after year. You honestly cant ask for anything more!! Its literally right on the water and everything is here. Its so peaceful and relaxing and only minutes from downtown. My family and I love staying here, watching the sunset and sunrise, the wildlife, deer and ducks, the boats going thru the water and theres shallow water for the little ones to play too. Definitely my favorite camp place. ”

“Another week of vacationing at the Adirondack Lake House and we couldn't ask for anything more!! As always it was absolutely beautiful, well maintained, and very peaceful. Getting up in the morning having coffee on the patio, siting by the water, watching the geese and deer come aboard the property to look around is so calming and peaceful. This vacation home is above and beyond expectations. We absolutely love it here and look forward to coming back each year. Thank you for sharing your vacation home with us again this year and letting us enjoy the comforts of the Adirondacks with peace and tranquility right on the waterfront. There's nothing more you can ask for when vacationing, this Adirondack lake House has it all!!! thank you again. ”

“We absolutely loved our week at this camp! We have rented for years in the Adirondacks and it is not often that we find a camp so well accomodating and so nicely laid out. We would definately rent here again. Everything we needed was right there, but if we did need anything, Old Forge was only a few minutes away! We enjoyed watching the Loons from the beautiful flagstone patio, and had plenty of room for our Pontoon boat that we rented with the boathouse and dock. The yard has a beautiful firepit, with plenty of room to sit around and make smores! An absolutely great place to rent and we thank the owners for sharing this little gem with us!”

“We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. The house was ample for 4 adults, 2 children and 1 dog. Many thanks to the owner for allowing dogs. Thats not a common occurrence. The lakefront is beautiful and we spent time on the dock (coffee at daybreak is phenomenal) or at the little beach while our granddaughters played and splashed in the water. We also enjoyed dinner on the patio. The house was a great base of operations as we kayaked, canoed, hiked, rode bikes and ran throughout the area. The week went by too fast but it was, truly, a great time at a great place.”

“This is our 2nd year staying at this charming cottage on beautiful First Lake. The cottage is clean and cozy and has plenty of room for a family. The area is very quiet and the outdoor amenities only add to the charm. The boathouse and dock were perfect for our 17' boat. If you love peace, quiet, and beautiful views, you'll love the Lake House. ”

“We stayed one week at the Adirondack Lake House and hope to return again. As first time renters after many years of owning our own camp were were apprehensive. We were relieved to find the rental process was easy and very organized. We were pleasantly surprised finding a cozy camp with plenty of room, lovely landscaping and property perfect for enjoying the outdoors by the lake. gorgeous views of the lake from much of the house and all the amenities we could ever need to have a fantastic vacation.

“We were all delighted with the cottage! Proximity to water was what we were looking for. We never tired of the view of First Lake from the windows in the kitchen and livingroom. We saw loons several times and heard their call. A few deer passed through the yard each morning also.
Everything we needed was there for our use. We are already talking about renting again in the future.”

“We had a wonderful time staying at this house. It was just the right size for our family of four. The location on the lake was great. Everything about the home was clean and nicely decorated. We would definately consider renting this home again. ”

“We have rented this camp since 2006. You couldn't ask for better people to rent from. There is plenty to do just a short distance away or just stay there and relax you may even not want to leave. Good value for the cost we have paid more for place that were not half as good.”

“We had the PLEASURE of staying at this "camp" for a week at the beginning of September. It was just what the doctor ordered! Being a couple of "workaholics" , it was the perfect opportunity for my busy family to re-connect:) From the time we booked until long after we checked out, the owners were amazing! They don't treat you like a random renter...but more like a valued friend:) THIS was the place you want to spend your vacation!!! The location is perfect and the views of the lake are spectacular. I wish this site allowed for picture uploads...as I took hundreds!! We rented a pontoon boat at the local marina, so the boat house was really a bonus. The fishing was great! While the boys caught some monster pike right off shore, my daughter and I caught some great shopping in town!! lol. This "camp" was very clean (which is very important to me) and offers all the comforts of home. The patio is beautiful and the perfect place to just sit and relax. The fire pit made for some memorable fun evenings (loved the Adirondack chairs...so comfy) I can't imagine a more perfect family retreat. I just wish we would have thought about booking earlier in the summer so we could have enjoyed some warmer weather. I struggle to find anything that was not perfect. If I HAD to say something...it would be a washer and dryer and Wi-fi. (although while on vacation...I guess it could be looked at as a plus not to have. lol) Thank you for sharing your "camp" with us and giving us something to look forward too next summer! We will definitely be back!!”

“We have stayed at the Adirondack Lake House for one week each year since 2008. Our stay was relaxing, restful, and the facilities provided all the comforts of home at a reasonable price. Access to the lake provides an opportunity to catch some nice fish - Bass and Northern Pike right from the dock. The view of the lake at dawn can be spectacular. We are particularly grateful that we are allowed to bring our pets for the week. The location allows you to use all of the facilities in Old Forge easily. Cleaning the house just prior to departure is a minor negative.”

“We are very fortunate to have many repeat renters each season who enjoy our home as much as we do...
In response to the comment on cleaning, we ask renters to leave the place as they found it in order to keep the rental price reasonable. However, renters may opt to pay the $150 cleaning service instead.”

“The cabin is nicely secluded along first lake where you are able to retreat away from the busy town life. Very clean and had all the accommodations of home. This is a great place to get away from wherever you might be coming from, and just relax. Our group personally enjoyed listening to the loons across the lake early in the morning, and late at night. Very close to many attractions, and being able to store our boat in the boat house was a major plus! Will definitely be renting from here again! ”
