Family retreat, 400 feet from Fourth Lake in Eagle Bay Park on East Avenue. Adirondack remodeled home built in the 1920's. New custom pine kitchen, complete with gas stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and old fashioned double stainless steel sink with drain boards. New furniture and bedroom sets are just part of our recent updates.
The home offers a living room, dining room, five bedrooms (four upstairs and one downstairs) and two full bath. The four bedrooms offer queen beds and one bedroo …m has two Adirondack bunk beds. Sleeps 12 people.
Perfect for a large family reunion or want to have more guests? This home can be combined with Winter Snow Flake which can accommodate 11 more people (see other listing).
Outside there is a fire pit to roast marshmallows and a picnic table to enjoy your meals. The beautiful sandy beach and Lake are just a three minute walk from the front door.

“Another August Week has come to an end at North Star. We enjoyed good weather as the storms passed to the North and South of us. One day of rain was the only slow-down, but Adirondack Rain is pleasant to experience. Multiple activities filled the days. Trails, Hiking, Tennis, Beach Time, Kayaking from State Park on South Shore Road to Alger Island for lunch was a grand family happening. Eagle Bay Beach became a warm stretch of sand, with water temperatures of 78 degrees. North Star has been the point of the compass for eight years, as we venture forth on adventures. Our family looks forward to returning to the enjoyable camp called North Star. The 12 grand Adirondack Chairs that surround the fire pit have held many a S'More event. It is a year away, but we are looking forward to the relaxed atmosphere of a home away from home. We might even sneak in a donut and ice cream or two from Eagle Bay.”

“This home is stunning! It is wonderfully decorated and very clean. The kitchen is fully stocked and has plenty of room. The dining table is large and held all of us. The walk to the lake is short, but is hilly. The fire pit is great and there are plenty of nice ADK chairs to go around. We had an amazing time at this home even with some dreary weather. The beds were comfortable so we were able to sleep well. We are definitely planning to go to Old Forge again and rent this home. We have nothing but positive things to say. You will enjoy your stay here no matter what the weather is. There are tons of fun things to do around here as well. It's the perfect relaxing vacation!”

“This was our fourth year staying at North Star and we love it! Our kids love staying in the bunkhouse and look forward to returning each year. We love to cook big family meals in the kitchen, which has everything you need and more. The house has everything you will need to have a great week. The beach is a 3 minute walk and is lovely. We also enjoy taking walks through the neighborhood and of course getting ice cream at the end of the road. The fire pit is great and we enjoy having fires each night. The owners added new ADK chairs this year around the fire pit making it even more enjoyable. Wood is available on-site for a reasonable cost which is convenient as well. You will love your week at the North Star!”

“Familiar warm environment. Close to beach, gift store, and ice cream. Grandchildren have made Summer friends that they look forward to seeing every year. North Star is a central staging area to venture in many directions. The ease of walking into a fully furnished camp is enjoyable. TV, WiFi, and space make it a pleasure. The deer wandering in the yard made for an enjoyable wildlife experience. The Bear at the dumpster was interesting to observe, but with less enthusiasm of interaction. We enjoyed the new composite Adirondack chairs around the fire pit. The sliding barn door on the downstairs bathroom is a welcome renovation.”

“Just wrapped up a week staying at the beautiful North Star. Our family had a great time. Great location, very well kept, updated and maintained. Has all of the modern comforts with the feel and decor of a true ADK camp. The property is spacious and has both ample outdoor and indoor room to entertain. Our family loves everything the ADK's has to offer, swimming, biking, hiking, snowmobiling, etc. We look forward to returning in the future. ”

“We just enjoyed our seventh summer in a row at North Star! The house is in great condition, full of amenities, and the owner is very responsive. The location is perfect, nestled between Old Forge and Inlet. We love to hike, rent boats and kayaks, play golf, ride horses, go to Enchanted Forest and Calypso Cove, and mostly relax. The community beach is just down the hill, and is perfect for young families with small children. The sand is clean and the neighbors are friendly. ”

“We rented this home from Michelle again this year for two weeks. We had another couple and their children stay with us and it was very comfortable for all of us. Michelle is a pleasure to deal with and her family takes good care of the property. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the kitchen is very well equipped. Other than sheets, towels and paper products, this house provides for most every need!”

“This was the second year that we stayed in North Star. We've been coming to the ADKs every Columbus Weekend in October since 1984 with our family and friends' family. We are a total of 12 adults and 6 children, so we also rent Winter Snowflake behind North Star. North Star is ideal for our situation. The downstairs living room is spacious and newly furnished. The kitchen has been remodeled in a very ADK style. The dining room table is big enough to accommodate many people. Having two full bathrooms is a plus. It's a short walk to the beach, and the neighborhood streets provide the opportunity for great walks and bike rides. We highly recommend North Star for your stay!”

“My family has been renting summer vacation homes in this area over the past 30 years. We have stayed at North Star the past 4 summers and it is a great family rental and definitely our favorite rental over the years. The house was renovated a few years ago which provides a significant advantage over many comparable rentals. The kitchen, dining room and living room are very spacious, allowing you to accomodate a large group or family without feeling cramped. The kid-friendly beach is just down the hill and is an easy walk even for the little kids. Nature hikes, horseback riding, golf, swimming, boating, fishing, playgrounds, shopping, the movies, fine dining, ice cream, and Enchanted Forest for the children are all within a 10 minute drive. I would strongly recommend this rental home, just not during the week that we are there!”

“North Star was more a home than camp for our family gathering. We used Eagle Bay as a center for expanding our Adirondack Experiences. Enchanted Forest, Boating, Kayaking, Horseback Riding, Hiking, Swimming, Biking, and Tennis were all family activities we enjoyed during our stay. We gathered around the fire-pit in the evenings, shared dinner at a large dining-room table, and enjoyed a well-equipped kitchen to prepare meals. We had such a good time that we signed on for this coming year. A trip to The Doughnut Shop and to ice cream in the neighborhood made for enjoyment. It was a positive experience for three generations of our family. We were all relaxed and rejuvenated after our week at North Star. Central location, close to the beach, and room to share- one great time.”

“We loved staying in this home for our family vacation. It is recently remodeled with newer furniture and kitchen. The home is spacious and very clean with plenty of space for guests. The washer and dryer and wireless internet made our vacation hassle-free! We also enjoyed the proximity to the public beach and walking/biking trails. This house is ideal for a family vacation.”
