“I stayed 2 weeks in October 2024 with my dog and 3 ( outdoor) ducks. The cabin was super cozy and had everthing you needed. My dog and I loved all the hiking in the area with the beautiful fall colors. My ducks loved swimming in the lake. We grilled out in the yard and enjoyed the fire pit. What made this place extra special was all of the neighbors I met while there. Each one nicer than the next and all telling me wonderful stories of the area. What a great location!. Thank you again for a wonderful time at your house Roberta!”

“Just spent an amazing long weekend at your beautiful cabin with my husband and our fur baby and we cant wait to come back up again . This is our second time renting this beautiful place , we came up in June for a week and we loved it so much we wanted to come again and enjoy the Fall colors . The cabin has everything you need and is cozy and rustic and clean . The neighbors are all so friendly , we enjoyed walking around the lake , bonfires every night , sitting on the screened in porch just having our morning coffee or playing games at night . Thank you again for a great weekend . We cant wait to come back again .”

“What a beautiful cozy cabin ! We had a wonderful week and enjoyed kayaking on Otter Lake, hiking nearby trails and we took our pup Sadie on her very first vacation and she loved it . Short walk to access the lake and the neighbors were very nice . Even though there are other houses nearby it is very private and just a beautiful property . We had just a few rainy nights but just hanging out in the cabin playing board games was fun . The fire pit also is very nice and good sized so we enjoyed many bonfires . Will definitely be back to visit and stay again , clean and cozy and beautiful . The cabin has everything you need :)”

“Fantastic cozy cottage at Otter Lake. Peaceful and quiet setting just off the main road. Owner was friendly and responded quickly to all our questions. Cottage had everything we needed during our stay. Nice outdoor area as well. Would definitely come back and stay again. ”

“Perfect cabin for a peaceful vacation with lots to do. I have rented this cabin for the past 6 years and always have a great stay. It's always very clean and the hostess is very responsive and continually making improvements. Pet friendly is a huge plus because I bring my dogs for all our hiking adventures. Neighbors on either side are far enough away that it feels more secluded than
other houses around which I love not only for us but for the dogs. They can roam the backyard freely. The road ends at a spot to access the water (perfect for the dogs) and also has 2 trails. Old Forge is about 10 mins away with a ton of trails all along 28. I look forward to this trip every year, you will not be disappointed! ”

“This is the perfect rental for a private quiet getaway! My family and I have rented this house twice, once in summer and once in the fall and soon to be returning for another summer. The house is cozy and comfortable and has a nice spacious deck and yard to enjoy. The lake is just a short walk down the road and is great for swimming and kayaking. It is only about 20 minutes or so away from Old Forge which has plenty of things for families to explore.The owner is super helpful with answering any questions and making sure we were all set with our accommodations. I highly recommend renting out this cabin for a nice relaxing vacation, you will not regret it! ”

“This is a great place if you want peace and quiet. Otter Lake is beautiful to walk around, lots of good hiking in the area, lots of other rivers and creeks to walk or bike around. When a problem came up with the heat, Roberta had a neighbor take care of it. The cabin comes with a rowboat for Otter Lake. Even though the weather was mostly cool and cloudy, Old Forge was fun to walk around, heard some entertainment at the Farmer's Market and I loved hearing Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in the stores. The cabin is great for sleeping, the screened in porch is a plus when the insects are around (although I was told they come and go). I went to the Wild Center in Tupper Lake which has lots of outdoor activities for kids as well as indoor educational exhibits. Unfortunately canoes are not being rented this summer due to COVID but hopefully next summer will be better. Seeing the sun set on Otter Lake topped off the week. I saw more people and masks at a Thruway rest stop than during the whole week! The whole experience made me realize that I need a hideaway place like No Otter Way.”

“Very nice camp. Neat and clean. Great area to walk our dog and love the front screened in porch and back deck. Very good value. The owner was very helpful when we didn't know the wifi information. I would rent this camp again. ”

“We very much enjoyed our stay in No Otter Way - It is cute & cozy. It's a fairly small property along a residential road but in September most of the properties were unoccupied. The biggest caveat is that it depends on a shallow well and the water is not safe to drink or use in cooking, so bring your own. DiOrio's In Old Forge is the place to stock up for anything you forget. It is fine to shower with the water. The owners have remodeled it quite a bit but do not expect "like new" condition. The downstairs bedroom has a double bed, and there are queen sized beds upstairs tucked under sloping ceilings. These might be pretty hot in the summer but were perfect during our stay. We visited with two dogs, so the front porch made a nice "sally port" to prevent doggy escapes. Our hostess was very gracious and very concerned about the condition of the cabin in spite of the fact that she was far away during our stay and dealing with problems of her own. ”

I will omit the Like New condition if I see it on the listing. The cabin was remodeled in 2009 with the deck added a couple years back. While cleaning and closing up for the winter, we noticed the living room rug had stains left from a summer renter. That is not the typical renter to do that. We already made contact to have it replaced. We also noticed that the box fan and pedestal fan were missing and we will replace those for next season. Not typical to have an issue with renters as they are grateful for our cleanliness and peaceful setting.
Renters supply their own drinking water and firewood. Most lake residents do not cook with or ingest the well water.
We fared well with our hurricane conditions in SC in September. We were at No Otter Way last week and LOVED every second of it! It's nice to unplug and have the days last twice as long!

“I brought my husband here for his first "Adirondack" vacation. He loved Otter Lake, and we completely enjoyed staying at "no otter way". It was clean, very well maintained, and the pride of ownership shows throughout the camp. We enjoyed all of our neighbors, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. I would highly recommend staying at "no otter way"”

“This is the 3rd summer in a row that my family has stayed at the "No Otter Way" camp. It is very cozy, clean and has all the ammenities of home. Close to Old Forge for shopping, restaurants,etc. We bring our boat every year and enjoy the beautiful scenic Otter Lake. It's truly a peaceful vacation spot! Looking forward to our annual family vacation again this summer! B. Farmer ”
