“Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this beautiful cabin. The gorgeous new deck, railings and stairs (inside and out) make it a work of art. The beds were comfortable and amenities provided everything we needed. Great location, with some highway noise, with a great view. Loved kayaking down the quiet lake and the loons that live there. We had a wonderful week. ”

“This was my grandfather's home...so many amazing memories. Seeing the pictures of his kitchen and bedroom brings back his smell...an avid pipe smoker. Miss him and this home...so glad many people are making memories here now!”

“Just wanted to write a short review to express the great time we had at your cabin. Everything was as described and there was plenty of room for all of us. We made so many memories here this week with my children and grandchildren. We spent plenty of time on and in the lake, swimming, kayaking, and floating in your tubes. Backyard fire pit was used every night. Cabin is close to Old Forge and all it has to offer. Thanks again!”

“I thought I wrote a review YEARS ago, but apparently I forgot! We absolutely loved staying here. We try to rent a different place each summer, but this is the one we keep trying to return to! I loved how we were right on the lake. Nothing beats being able to have a cup of coffee while looking out on the lake. We stayed several years ago, but I remember the owners being very accommodating and friendly. I remember the property being kid-friendly as far as board games and things to do. I hope we can return next summer!”

“Wow! We just spent the most wonderful vacation at this beautiful house! Everything was spotless upon our arrival. The house has beautiful furnishings with great kitchen amenities. The beds were so comfortable,we didn't want to get up in the morning. We really loved the three levels of living/sleeping space as it afforded everyone plenty of room and privacy. We loved the canoe and kayak - a beautiful, calm, non-motorboat lake so there's none of the annoying water sleds and speed boats to disturb the peace. It was a little too cold to swim, but we did go wading - looked to be great place to swim, especially if you have young children. We walked to the state hiking trails and found them really nice and very convenient. I would highly recommend this beautiful house if you are staying in the Old Forge area. We hope to return again! ”

“Great place to stay with awesome amenities. No complaints whatsoever. Great amenities in the kitchen. Two bathrooms are great. Plenty of room. Very clean. Great waterfront equipment. My daughter loved kayaking on such a calm lake. Beautiful lake, not too large, but very calm. Wonderful resident loon. Clean sandy bottom, easy swimming right off the dock. Thank you very much for a great weekend away”

“We had such a great time at Kateri Cabin! Such a beautiful well-kept cabin that was so relaxing! Our girls had a ball swimming in the lake and our oldest learned how to kayak! Our girls loved the kayak ride to the public sandy beach to build sand castles! My husband and I enjoyed taking the kayaks out in the morning for a little fishing! He even caught a couple big bass and our daughter caught a few right off the dock! Also, with a short ride up the road the girls got to ride on the Adirondack Scenic Railroad and loved it!! We would recommend Kateri Cabin to anyone who is looking for a relaxing family get away! ”

“A beautiful home - well kept up and very clean! We had a good time even though it rained for most of it. The last 2 days ended up being beautiful though. The lake is so clean and clear. My son caught a ton of fish and chased a couple frogs around so he was happy. The ducks and ducklings came to visit everyday which we enjoyed very much. Also enjoyed the spacious deck and use of the boat and kayak. Close proximity to Old Forge and many hiking trails. Great rental!”

“This review is LONG overdue!! I rented this home for the past 2 winter seasons. I LOVED everything about it...location, size, cleanliness and most of all, dealing with the owners, John and Denise! I would have to say that if I did not purchase a home up here this summer, that I would rent EVERY winter at " Kateri Cabin "! Thank you again John and Denise for making my past 2 winters so enjoyable!”

“Thanks for sharing your place! We had a great week. The cabin is cute, clean and private, The kids enjoyed the swimming(nice shallow water with a sandy- not mucky bottom). The use of the boats were nice as well as the close proximity to Old Forge if you need any groceries or want to walk around the town. We attempted the hiking trail near the cottage also which is good for all ages. My son fished all day every day, catching lots of stuff. We also enjoyed the firepit nightly.”

“Our stay at Kateri Cabin was very restful. The cabin is tucked into a quiet neighborhood. We had the lake to ourselves. Lake Tekini is a great lake to kayak on. The cabin is beautiful - cozy and very clean. We enjoyed fishing on the dock and sitting on the deck enjoying the bright sunshine. We walked from the cabin directly to a trail head and did a five mile hike. Close to Old Forge but without the traffic. The owners are wonderful people who truly care that you enjoy their piece of paradise. Emails were answered quickly and they were happy to answer all of my questions. ”

“Renting from Denise and John has been such a wonderful experience. They are quick to respond to any questions you may have at any time throughout your stay, They also have a care taker who is only a phone call away if the unexpected happens. Moreover, The camp itself is truely amazing. The layout of the camp allows enough room for everyone to spread out as well as opportunities for families to spend quality time together. “A beautiful cabin on a nice, private lake. The cabin is well-cared for and kept up nicely. Plenty of support from the owners. I liked the fact there there is a person nearby who is the designated "caretaker", in the event of a problem. Communications with owner were excellent, which made us feel very "at home". Very peaceful, and yet only about 10 minutes from Old Forge. Somewhat private beach is right around the corner from the cabin, which also has its own dock. We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay(except the rain!).”

“Kateri Cabin was better than we dreamed! Communication with the owner was superb. She provided detailed information on what to expect, including information, and things to do in the area. When we arrived the cabin was immaculate; well built; fabulous kitchen, living area, and bedrooms. VERY spacious and well kept. And what a majestic location.. with the lake and loons right out the front windows. And to top it off, a fabulous deck where we sat out for coffee in the morning and evenings with a glass of wine. Thanks for sharing such beauty and splendor in the Adirondack's with us! We'll be back for sure.

“Our getaway at Kateri Cabin was everything we had hoped for and more. The cabin was spacious and spotless - when we first walked in the layout and sheer size of the house took our breath away. The beautiful fixtures, wrap around deck, charming decorating and Adirondack style furniture made us feel we had hit the jackpot - this is a true luxury cabin! There was plenty of room for everything - cooking, baking, playing games, napping, and just sprawling out and relaxing. Our dog positively loved the lake, the yard, and the NYS trails that are within walking distance of the cabin. During the week, we took several day trips, and the location of Lake Tekini to Old Forge, Inlet, Blue Mountain Lake, Lake Placid and Saranac Lake made it easy to pack many adventures into our time in the ADKs! The owners of the cabin were so easy to work with and responded very quickly to all of our questions and requests - Denise responded to my emails within 24 hours, each and every time. The amenities were amazing - imagine coming home from vacation with no laundry to do, because you can do it all as you go! :) You will not want for any single thing in the kitchen - it contains every utensil and dish you can imagine! We had camp fires and viewed absolutely beautiful skies with millions of stars every night. We even caught fish off the dock right in the backyard! We hope to visit Kateri Cabin again - it truly feels like a home away from home and we thank Denise and John for their hospitality and care! We culdn't have imagined a more ideal setting for our Adirondack vacation!”

“Kateri cabin was wonderful! I've been coming to old forge for 4 years now a couple times a year and have been renting all over.... well I must say I will be returning to kateri cabin! My family and I (11 year old, set of twins 9, and 3 year old, myself and my other and our family dog) stayed here during the Adirondack christmas event in old forge it was amazing! It was a first time to old forge for the 3 oldest and to this day they are still drawing pictures of the house n showing them to me and hanging them on the fridge... we made pies had fires every night and watched christmas movies .. we were lucky enough to get a good amount of snow well we were there for the kids to play in as well. Everyone had a truly amazing time here! Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us! The owners were great to work with as well! We are already planning our next stay but this time we will be staying even longer! ”

“Kateri Cabin offered everything we were looking for: good location, comfortable, well laid out and well maintained. “Our family vacation at Kateri Cabin this summer was everything we wanted. It was a beautiful cabin tucked away on a beautiful, small and peaceful lake. We enjoyed the chance to float and caneo with out motorized boats to worry about. The yard was big enough for games with a nice fire pit. The distance to town was perfect. We couldn't have been more pleased. The owner was a pleasure to work with. ”

“We greatly enjoyed our week in beautiful Kateri Cabin. The home was large enough to give us space away from each other when we needed it, but still cozy and warm for great family dinners and fun times on the lake. Sitting out on the porch and grilling steaks was a highlight - also, the awesome kitchen was put to use in the creation of three different pies! Little Timothy (8 months old) crawled for the 1st time - clearly the Adirondack air and the relaxed environment of Kateri Cabin was good for him! The house is close to lots of fun attractions, but when you drive down that dirt road and pull into the cabin, I could swear we were all alone in the wilderness!
Denise was a pleasure to work with - always fast to answer any questions. Thank you so much for everything!
