Welcome to the Keating Camp in historic Wanakena, located on the Oswegatchie River with easy access into Cranberry Lake.
One of the largest of the ADK lakes, Cranberry's shoreline is approximately 85% "forever wild". State land surrounds our camp, offering hiking trails, canoe routes and great kayaking. Fishermen, get ready to catch big Bass and Northerns. Trout fishermen love our streams, ponds and the river. Your kids can fish right off the dock!
Our camp, built in 2004, is bright and a …iry, with big windows providing excellent views up and downriver. Nestled in the woods, it has it's own dock, large sleeping loft (2 twin beds at one end and 1 double at other end with privacy screen between), indoor bathroom with toilet, sink and shower, kitchen with basic equipment, windowed side porch (with screens) with daybed.
While you're in Wanakena, be sure to visit the village square, our historic footbridge or Ottos Abod for coffee ,snacks and local information. Maybe you'll be in town for one of our summer parades or music events...always fun! For a peaceful vacation in a quaint setting, your family will love Wanakena.

“My husband and I loved Keating Camp and Wanakena. Wanakena is so very peaceful and relaxing, the small town is wonderful...everyone we met was very friendly. The camp was very nice, we enjoyed making a fire one night, sitting on the dock, relaxing in the cabin and taking walks to town...it had everything we were looking for! We hope to return some day soon!”

“I was disappointed only in the mere fact that I could not book this property again this August! The area is wonderful, the property itself was clean and cozy. I was hoping for Memorial Day weekend but someone was quicker to the draw than me!! I absolutely fell in love, with the cabin, the area and so much more. Thank you Kim!!!”

“I rented this camp for six years until I was lucky enough to purchase my own camp In Wanakena. I really loved the privacy this camp offers, hidden in the trees, but close to the dock and water.it has a great porch and is so relaxing!! The people of the community are so pleasant and helpful. There's a general store, post office and restaurant nearby. My family enjoys all the hiking, biking, and boating this area has to offer. You will never want to go home!!!”

“Our stay at the A-Frame was absolutely magical! The cabin is cozy and comfortable, secluded among the pines - a total escape. The path through the trees from the cabin to the water was one of my favorite things about staying there. The private dock is large and we enjoyed laying out by the lake, fishing and taking in the gorgeous scenery. We took a short walk and came upon hiking trails and the foot bridge to the general store. Also took a peek inside the Rustic Cabin and it looks amazing. Kim, the property manager, was a joy to work with from booking the dates we wanted to providing all the information we needed. We just returned home and we already want to go back to Keating Camps!”

“Our stay at the A-frame was quiet and relaxing and just what we hoped for! The cabin had a wonderful view of the water and a constant refreshing breeze off of the river. It was clean and comfortable. The dock area made for easy access with our kayaks. We have rented many cabins over the years in different areas of the country and found the property manager and the communication with her to be one of the best we have experienced. We are definately making plans to return to this beautiful and friendly area. ”

“My two children and I loved our stay at the older cabin! it is very rustic and personal, I especially loved the sea shells that surround the mantle, very personal and homey. My children had fun kayaking on small trips to town and across the river to the Pine Cone restaurant which was great. we hiked up to Rainbow Falls which was beautiful. and hearing the loon calls in the evening was lovely. Highly Recommend!”
