“Clean, comfortable, relaxing are just a few of the words that come to mind when we think about our recent stay at Star Ridge Cottage. We were looking for a place in the mountains to get away for a few days and the Cottage certainly met our needs. It is very peaceful and remote---just what we were looking for---yet easy to drive to and convenient to Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, the AuSable River, etc. There is even a gas grill on the expansive deck, which we did use. The view from the cottage is ok, but don't be fooled: be sure to take the time to walk up the hill to Mike and Minis place, where you will be rewarded with a truly breathtaking view of the Adirondacks. (If there is snow on the mountains when you visit, you might even think you are out in the Rockies or Grand Tetons!) And Mike could not have been more hospitable, as well as their little dog Terry. Unfortunately, Mini was away, so we did not have an opportunity to meet her. We will definitely return.

“We came across Mike and Mini's Star Ridge Cottage by chance in exploring possibilities for a mountain getaway. What serendipity! Our week at this beautiful residence was nothing short of amazing. Off the beaten path, but not hard to find, Adirondack Star Ridge was the perfect combination of privacy and accessibility. We took advantage of the locale, venturing off to nearby Lake Placid and Saranac Lake, but each evening we were relieved to come back to such a peaceful and welcoming home-base. The views were truly breathtaking; the majestic mountains as seen from the ridge, the expansive night sky teaming with stars seemed painted just for us as we admired it from the porch every night. A truly humbling experience. We lucked out with the weather on our stay - nothing but sunshine and blue skies to hike by! Still, I would venture to guess that there is not a storm that could ruin a stay here. The cottage itself is warm and inviting. Perhaps most enjoyable was the wood stove that we cozied up in front of each night. Our only regret is not being able to stay a few days longer. We're home now and reflecting on our beautiful retreat in the mountains. What spirit there is to be found in nature... a no better a place to find it. We cannot say enough about Mike and Mini's rental. A wonderful experience from beginning to end! ”

“Our stay at the Star Ridge Cottage was an outstanding experience that will remain with us for a long time. The cottage itself had everything we could wish for and much more. The breathtaking view and the surrounding were only part of that experience. The cottage is perfectly located if you want to enjoy the rivers, the nature hikes and many other attractions. Our family (2 adults and 3 children 10,13,16) simply didn't want to leave... But above all we are grateful to the warm and friendly owners who welcomed us in a way rarely seen! We highly recommend Star Ridge as a peaceful getaway for the entire family! Thank you, M&M :)”

“My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Star Ridge this fall. Mike and Mini made the rental process extremely easy, communicating via email and being able to pay online. We have been renting in the Adirondacks for years, and this was by far the easiest transaction. Our deposit was returned the same night we checked out. As far as the cabin, it was the perfect size for the 2 of us. And the view up by the main house is the most spectacular we've seen, including views that took us 2 hours of hiking to get to. We look forward to returning in the spring.”

“This is a great rental cottage. We stayed for a long weekend with our dog and were so glad we did. The views are breathtaking, the house very open with really nice features, including a huge deck, and the owners are nearby and responsive but you definitely have a lot of privacy, peace and quiet. We highly recommend!”
