Shoredge is a 50 years old classic Adirondack cabin 12 feet from the lake, with 165 feet of frontage and .8 acres of privacy. It is located on Lake George in prestigious Friends Point Hague NY and is perfect for a small family. The master bedroom has a queen size bed. There is another small bedroom with 2 single beds and a small den with a full length bunk bed. Both are open to a hallway and are perfect for 4 people, especially children. For an occasional guest there is a sleeper sofa in th …e living room. The cabin including the porch is about 1100 sq ft. with one bathroom and a small living room and kitchen. Besides the pristine lake side setting, the beauty of this cabin is its huge wrap around covered porch with one of the best views on Lake George. Perfect for a cocktail party or just relaxing with a book and a cool drink. The house was used year around so the kitchen is extremely well equipped. An oil furnace in the basement can quickly take the chill off a cool morning. There is a large private U dock reaching 40 feet into the lake with a ladder on the end and a center lift for a pontoon boat. "Run about" boats can tie up on the side of the 40 foot dock. The dock can accommodate a 24 foot boat or shorter. Swimming can be done off the dock or the shallow shore line beside it. There is no telephone service but Verizon and ATT cell phones usually work on the SE corner of the porch. There is WI FI internet, and basic TV digital cable service hooked up to a 43 inch flat screen TV set with a blue ray DVD player. Internet is at 500 download & 20 upload. There is a good selection of DVD disks for rent in the town of Ticonderoga about 10 miles to the north. Our cabin would be a great retreat for a small family or a honeymoon couple.

“We had a very nice stay during our week at this cabin in the Hague. Everything we needed was there in the kitchen. Appliances all worked well. The covered porch was spacious with a beautiful rustic feel and seating for more than the five in our group. There was a BBQ off the covered deck and a dock for our boat. We had a great time and look forward to renting here again!”

“If I could create my perfect cabin on the lake - this is it. I would not change a thing. The lake front porch is everything and more. Lovely in the morning with coffee. Lovely in the afternoon with a book. Dinner and cocktails on the porch - perfection. Very private spot and really don't see the neighbors. As fairly "local" people - who keep our boat in Southern Lake George - the gorgeous northern Lake George views are unparalleled. Got up early each morning to see sunrise. And you can still get some of the color from a sunset - and on our first night there was this credible smokey pink/orange sky with a double rainbow. The cabin itself is charming. We cooked all of our meals and the kitchen was very well equipped. Everything was clean and fresh - and we didn't even need to use the dish and hand soap we brought - as everything was there. Beds were comfy - linens were great. The lake front is beautiful. Perfect to swim, float, fish, sit, kayak (the local marina can help with those if you don't have your own). We brought our boat and the docking was great. Really - this place is just a true gem. Miss it already!”

“"Shoredge" is really spectacular! It is even better than the photos. A wonderful rustic cabin just like the ones you grew up loving when you were a kid. The views are wonderful. The kitchen is great and has everything you could need to cook. And the dock is situated close by with wonderful sun all along it for most of the day. Plenty of great views of boats as they travel past. Close to Ticondaroga where you can shop and near the sweet hamlet of Hague which has a country store. We will return again next year.”

“There aren't enough superlatives to describe how beautiful this property is. I have been vacationing on Lake George for 40 years, first as a child with my family in cottages in Ticonderoga and then camping in the narrows; in college bringing friends to camp as well, and then with my own family. We've stayed along the shore in Bolton, camped on the islands and along the eastern shore. All those memories are precious to me and I am so happy we have found Friends Point. The owner is gracious and accommodating, local caretakers were immediately available to answer questions. The property is what I've always wished for. It's exactly as described--updated kitchen, 180 degree views of the lake and private and quiet. We spent all of our time either on the huge wrap-around porch or in the water just off the U-dock. We will be back next year, and hopefully for years to come!”

“My family and I loved staying at Shoredge this summer. The views from this property are among the best on Lake George. We had so much privacy due to the quiet neighborhood and abundance of trees on this property. The dock and shore are terrific for swimming for our kids of varying ages and swimming ability. The Friends Point neighborhood with quiet streets is great for running, walking, and biking. The camp itself is clean, well maintained and supplied. The renovated kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, bowls, and dinnerware. The house had basic supplies on hand - dish soap, a roll of toilet paper, kitchen paper towels and wraps, spices and sugar- all clean so I had no hesitation to use the items. Nice not to have to run to the store immediately to buy these items. The bed linens and towels are new and attractive (updated from the photos). All in all, an attractive place with cottage charm. We look forward to staying here again!”

“This is a great rustic retreat. My wife and I brought our 3 kids (ages 10-16) for a week long stay, and thoroughly enjoyed this location. Right on the water with large and easy boat access. Very large front wrap around porch that accommodated a nice family cookout. The kitchen and bar is spacious and well stocked with everything you need. This is a very private location and there was no need to worry about bothering the neighbors, although the cabin is very rustic and not the easiest to find, we loved the privacy, connection with nature and the beautiful sunrise views. ”

“The place is fantastic. It has all the amenities. Endless activities abound this waterfront cabin.Boat rentals are available for the week. The dock was great and had whips to protect the boat. My son and I fished and caught 8-10 small mouth bass over the week. We shopped and dined out in Hague, Ticonderoga, Bolten Landing, the village etc., We read, played games and watched videos. We took in a movie at the Queensbury drive-in. We barbequed and sat out at night on the deck and watched the boaters, jet skis and paddlebords pass by. Drove up and down route 9 with scenic views. The cabin was well suited for our family vacation. We even caught an outdoor concert and enjoyed fireworks and the Hague Beach. I would highly recommend this vacation rental. Thanks Barry!”

You have the benefits of being on an island (privacy and beauty) with the comfort of sleeping in a bed....Walmart close by...I cant say enough good things about this beauty, you will not be sorry. The thunderstorms, rainbows, and moonlit nights are just a few of the added pleasures. It is Lake George at its best. A real nature reserve, so private....Cannot wait to come back next year....Not to mention the owner is a doll....Thank you so much for our two weeks here, we made some amazing memories we will never forget!!!! “My wife and I and our two boys (17 and 19) had a wonderful time on Lake George for a week. I remember spending summers on Brant Lake when I was a child and it was great to show off the Adirondack Mountains and beautiful Lake George to my family from Colorado. The house was perfect for the 4 of us and everything I remember of an old lake house. The house has an amazing covered front porch overlooking the lake where we started and ended each day. The house is stocked with everything we needed including board games we enjoyed each evening. Visiting from out of state, it was nice not having to wash the linens before departing. We were able to do our own laundry in Ticonderoga just 15 minutes away. We rented a deck boat and kayaks in Hague only 1.5 miles from the house. The little town of Hague is a delight, everyone we met was very friendly and helpful. It can be difficult to plan a vacation that satisfies everyone's desires (especially with 2 teenage boys) but I can confidently say this was one of the best vacations we have had together. The owner was very helpful and responsive. We look forward to returning to the lake and this wonderful gem of a house. ”

“A wonderful retreat at Lake George! Rustic and cozy, this is the place for a low key, private stay at Lake George. Nothing fancy or polished, just beauty, quiet, and privacy - how I remember times at "the lake" when I was young. The clear water is right there, the views from inside and out are of the tree covered mountains and the sparkly clear water. The sun rises opposite the kitchen window for morning tea on the deck. We stayed 4 days with our 2 boys, 11 and 13. Fishing and swimming off the dock. We rented a 17' boat in Hague just a few minutes away, parked it at our dock, and explored the northern end of the lake. Evenings with the fading light reflecting off the Lake fishing on the dock. The cabin is rustic - basic bathroom (but nice hot shower), stocked kitchen for cooking meals (but no dishwasher - the boys finally learned how to hand wash dishes!), the bedrooms need the fresh air off the lake for sleeping, but the living room is very nice, updated with it's bank of windows for hanging out, playing games, enjoying the view. The owner is very responsive and helpful - a pleasure to work with! If our travels bring up this way again, we would definitely like to revisit our cabin retreat- a longer stay would be in order!”

“I cannot begin to say enough wonderful things about our first trip up to Lake George! The owner (Barry) was more than helpful in providing us with information prior to and during our trip. This 'hidden' treasure is like no other you will find on the lake! It is hidden with trees all around the house and it sits feet from the water's edge. It's very rustic and charming and my two boys (ages 7 & 8) loved fishing off of the dock and swimming around the lake right in front of us! We loved the wrap around porch (with amazing views) and enjoyed every meal outside either on the dock or the deck! The house is kept very clean and inviting! It's was the perfect size for our family and we definitely will be returning to this home! We rented a boat for the week and the dock was perfect for a 20 ft. dock boat. We loved the serenity and beauty of the Northern part of the lake and the peacefulness of the area. We met some wonderful neighbors on our morning runs and felt very safe to have our boys walk around on their own. We also had some great dinners at the Hague Firehouse and Eddies just a few short miles from the house! It was the only time we were in the car - otherwise we would get in the boat and find a place to dock for lunch and/or dinner! So if you are looking for a relaxing and wonderful home to rent on Lake George I would highly recommend this house! We cannot wait to return. Thanks Barry for opening your home to us! Sharon, Jeff, Logan and Landon ”
