“Peaceful and quiet, this cabin is just right! We found it to be clean and well-stocked with cleaning supplies, cooking gear, life jackets, and boats. The drive in requires a high-clearance vehicle, and you need to drive carefully and slowly, but your patience is rewarded with a beautiful and peaceful place. There are comfy Adirondack chairs by a fire pit where you can enjoy the view out over the lake and not see any signs of civilization, and a large open waterfront area with sandy beach. Its a bit of hill from the cabin to the beach so if you are bringing your own kayak or canoe that is something to be aware of. (Theres lots of good paddling within a short drive of the cabin, as well as right outside your door if you stay there!) One of the bedrooms is bigger than the other (which has a view of the lake) and has lots of electrical outlets. The shower is small but serviceable and there is a woodstove in the living room and gas fireplace/heater in the kitchen. The owner is friendly and welcoming. Stay here if you are looking for privacy and peace! ”

“Great basic, functional, clean cabin. Ideal setting on lake. Very secluded (long dirt road), but accessible location to Indian Lake area.
Quiet and peaceful. Somewhat rustic but we enjoy that. Owner is accessible and friendly. We would go again.

“Me and my family have been staying here for ten years now. Sometimes we come twice a year if possible. We have nothing but great things to say. We love the owner and we love his property. My two young kids look forward to coming to the lake house as they call it all year. I have so many memories with my family here that I will truly cherish forever. When we leave we cant wait to come back. My five year old caught a northern pike, bass, and perch the smile on his face was priceless. Cant wait to plan our next trip. ”

“For those looking for privacy, this is the perfect place. The cabin is at the end of dead end road backed up against forest. Also has large well kept yard with private lake access. The cabin was well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, microwave , etc. and charcoal grill; and very clean. Plenty of space for 2-4 people. We really enjoyed lounging in the adirondack chairs by the water during day, taking kayak trips out on the lake and some great fishing. At night we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit with great views of the night sky. We were looking for a quiet, private place and the Goldilocks cabin certainly fit the bill. For any small items you forget to bring with you, the town of Indian Lake is just minutes away. We had a wonderful week at the cabin and found it to be a great place for some R&R.”

“This secluded home is perfect for a weekend getaway for two or four people. It's an escape away from society. There's no road noise, no disruptions-- it is very private. The scenic views of the sunrises and the lake are absolutely beautiful. There's plenty to do, whether it be fishing, hiking, going out on the lake, or just sitting around enjoying the nature. This home is very comfortable and it provides all the necessities. All in all, we had a wonderful time staying at this lakefront home on Lake Francis.”

“We just spent three great days at the cabin and hope to return again in the near future. The owner was very prompt in communications during the reservation process and made sure we were comfortable upon arrival and during our visit. The cabin was clean, warm, and private, and offered great views of the lake from the living room windows. The nearby trail and road offered plenty of good walking and sights. If it had been warmer, we would certainly have enjoyed getting out on the lake itself with one of the boats. A definite recommendation for family and friends!”

“We are very busy organic dairy farmers and rarely have an opportunity to vacation so are extremely particular about where we go. The 'Goldilocks' cabin exceeded our expectations! Cleanliness and privacy are top priorities and they were met! Located at the end of a dirt road, it is secluded and quiet. Except for our conversation across the fire pit, loons, owls and other little wildlife scurrying about were the only sounds. Serenity sums it up! Because we like to camp, we did all our cooking outdoors. Now that we are older we appreciated the accommodations of a bed and bathroom in conjunction with all the other camping pleasures! Our host was accommodating and respected our privacy. We had to check out late morning to allow for cleaning for the next lucky vacationers, and the owner offered us to take our time and go canoeing again. We took him up on this squeezing every bit of time out on the lake we could get! Close enough to plenty of hiking, yet removed from all the other cottages that line the other lakes, we will return here! We are already working on a date to return with our kids - perfect family get-away so we can enjoy just 'us' and natures beauty. Time here again, any season, would be a treat! ”

“We recently stayed at Goldilocks cabin and had a fantastic time. The cabin had all the comforts one needed for a week of relaxation, rest and fun. Fishing was great, rowboat and canoe provided were wonderful as well. Great swimming lake. Wildlife are abundant. Cabin was clean, well stocked with needed kitchen items. All we needed to bring were sheets, towels and our own food. Everything else was there. Easy drive into Indian Lake for supplies and cabin owner is right down the road if needed. The drinking water was also excellent-don't need to bring bottled water. If you are looking for a great experience look no further than Goldilocks cabin!

“We just spent a great week at this cottage! Seclusion and natural beauty are the key here. Enjoy a peaceful campfire outside, explore this lake's many fishing spots, or enjoy swimming and boating in the lake. The family that runs this spot is great; so nice and very easy to deal with. I can imagine that this would be an ideal spot for fall and winter activity as well. If you want to experience the Adirondacks the way they were before the incursion of overbuilding and overdevelopment, this is the place for you. My family has been in this area for years, and coming to Lake Francis was reminiscent of the way things were in the 60s-70s. PS, this lake seems to have been maintained in a pristine condition by the family. No noise, no noise, no noise. You will think you have really escaped the world. ENJOY! You'll love it...”

“My family and friends have such a good time at Goldilocks on this beautiful lake! We were there last Fall for leaf-peeping, canoeing, hiking, and hanging out by the campfire. We went back this Winter for ice-fishing, sledding, snow-shoeing, and more time by the fire. Goldilocks is cozy, rustic, and in a gorgeous private setting. Our daughter took her first steps in this very cabin! If you are looking to escape to nature, go here.”

“Tucked away in the woods overlooking the beautiful Lake Francis, this was perfect for our group to stay. With two rooms and a full kitchen, our group had plenty of privacy in our respective rooms but were able to come together and play games and eat our meals together in the spacious living room.
Absolutely recommend this place for people who want a getaway that is connected to nature and just a short drive from the quaint town of Indian Lake. ”
