As you approach the camp you'll notice the Little Cabin(included in the rental) followed by the Main Camp and be satisfied that you've made the right choice, this place is heavenly! Any cares you may have will be tossed aside. You'll get out of your car, leave the unpacking for later and head right for the lake because THAT's where you want to be...the views from this place are spectacular! Nestled in a wooded cove, straight across the lake you'll behold Bald Mountain, look closely to see if you can spot the fire tower on top(we highly recommend hiking it).
As reluctant as you may be to to leave the water's edge, the interior will not disappoint. Impeccably maintained and updated and now featuring central air conditioning, the main camp has an open floor plan centered around the Great Room with a magnificent floor to ceiling stone fireplace with log accents & custom forged screen. A huge wall of windows face the lake to bring the outdoors in. Take in the cathedral ceilings, skylights, ceiling fans and huge antler chandelier. Relax on the sumptuous leather furniture (sofa has 2 built-in recliners), one of the comfortable rocking chairs or the antique Old Hickory chair. Rustic Adirondack accents abound. Two sets of sliding glass doors, one leading directly to lake and the other to the spacious Azek deck and cast aluminum patio dining furniture as well as a glider loveseat, 2 other chairs & side tables. Bunks are separated by a deep bookcase, game cabinet below and there's a matching cabinet with birch bark inlay & flat screen TV. The awning windows allow the breeze in, ceiling fan with diamond hickory border & birch bark inlay and stunning log & twig railing. There is also a remarkably quiet whole house fan with remote control if it's not quite hot enough to turn on the A/C.
Down the hall are 3 additional well appointed bedrooms (1 Queen, 2 Full) and an updated bath with knotty pine walls & ceilings, single hickory vanity, oil rubbed bronze bridge faucet, built-in shelves, knotty pine bench w/ storage for towels & hooks above, beautiful tile shower with rain shower head plus hand held.

You'll fall in love with the Little Cabin...this the perfect place to get away from it all yet still enjoy many of the comforts of the main camp. Remodeled with knotty pine throughout. A spacious yet cozy room featuring vaulted ceiling w/an Adirondack style ceiling fan & light fixtures, Queen log bed, round wood twig table & 2 chairs, pine chest, small refrigerator and coffee maker. It also has it's own hot water tank too. Enjoy relaxing on the covered front porch in the 2 red Adirondack chairs. Please note: Little Cabin is closed up from late Fall-late Spring.
The outside speaks for itself really...you simply won't find a better setting! Start the day with a cup of coffee sitting in one of the Adirondack chairs on the dock while watching the morning mist slowly rise off the lake. Spend the rest of the day swimming, kayaking, hiking, fishing, or rent a pontoon boat & tour the Fulton Chain of Lakes. Discover the several waterfront restaurants in both directions that welcome boaters, a memorable way to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Finish your day sitting around the campfire telling stories and roasting marshmallows or head to the dock for spectacular star gazing.
It is rare to find a camp of this quality and superb location, truly a quintessential Adirondack experience!

“Our family had a wonderful time at Red Paddle Cove and we can't wait to return. The house has ample space - both indoors and out - and is perfectly situated in a beautiful cove that looks out at Bald Mountain. We enjoyed swimming, fishing, boating, kayaking and relaxing, too. The sandy beach was perfect for the smaller children and there were ample toys in the boat house, which kept them busy for hours. It was the perfect Adirondack vacation. We've spent considerable time in the Old Forge region and can say without a doubt that Red Paddle Cove is a premier rental with an incredible host. 10/10 experience.”

“Red Paddle Cove was 100% as advertised! It is a stunning property and was perfect for our multi-family vacation. Everything was meticulously maintained and cared for and in great condition. The decor was on point as well! The dock was the perfect size for a large pontoon boat and still had plenty of space for swimming and fishing! Our family would absolutely love to stay here again as the property was amazing and Missy provided a seamless booking process and kept an open line of communication for any questions or concerns. ”

“This property is amazing and will not disappoint! Situated on a quiet cove on 3rd Lake on the Fulton Chain. Beautifully decorated, kitchen is well equipped and provided enough room for our family. Missy is a gracious host and thought of everything to ensure her guests can enjoy a true Adirondack experience. One of the best parts-being able to dock a boat for lake excursions to Old Forge and Inlet. We are so looking forward to booking again for next summer! ”

“My family and I stayed at Red Paddle Cove at the end of June. This is our 3rd annual trip to the ADK's and 2nd year staying in Old Forge and I would have to say this place may be our new favorite! The house is beautiful with plenty of space, bedrooms and bathrooms for the 10 of us. The view from the main living area out to the lake is gorgeous. The house itself came with everything we needed to enjoy our week. By far our favorite was spending the day outside on the dock fishing, swimming and my kids loved the sandy beach. It was perfect for even my 18 month old to wade in and play in the sand. The boathouse came with sand toys, rafts, inner tubes and more. We enjoyed a fire by the lake each night and it was nice and peaceful being tucked away in a little cove of the lake. The owner was super helpful in responding to my questions both before we came and while we stayed at the house. She was just a quick phone call/email away. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone considering a stay in Old Forge/ADK. ”

“These pictures do not do this home justice... we rented in winter and decided we needed to see it on the summer time.. I cannot decide which time of year we loved more.. summer time this home allowed my 7 yr old to play in his own beach area and see the ducks while we were also able to dock a pontoon to the dock for our outings.. the fire pit was perfect for smores and my son said the hammock was he favorite (lol).. the inside is just amazing and cozy with all the room you could ever want... it has honestly become our happy place and we will be returning again in February and then again for next summer ... this has become our familys home away from home . Missy the owner also makes you feel like family and is always there is needed with question or concern.. we have rented numerous places till we found the perfect one in red paddle cove!!!”

“The pictures, even the video, do not do Red Paddle Cove justice! Amazing, could be in a ADK magazine, yet comfortable and homey and the same time. The shallow sandy beach was perfect for young kids. My 3 yr old grandson just had to get in the water even with the chilly weather we had. He had a ball. Also, our boat fit perfectly on the dock. The kitchen had everything we needed. My parents loved the little cabin and felt it was very comfortable. We rent cottages in both the Finger Lakes and up in the ADK. Missy was a complete pleasure to deal with. She was extremely helpful and made everything so easy. Thanks, Missy! Hope to be back soon.”

“My family stayed at Red Paddle Cove for labor day weekend and it was exactly what we were looking for! Our party consisted of 8 adults and 3 young children-we couldn't have asked for a more perfect location and setting! From the moment we walked in the front door we felt at home. The living room was large and comfortable, the kitchen was very well stocked, and the bedroom layouts worked great for everyone. The large table off the kitchen was fabulous for our big family meals. We even started a fire in the grand fireplace a couple of the nights. It was a bit cold during our stay but the kids still slashed around on the little beach which was sandy and shallow- absolutely perfect for young kids! We also rented a boat from a marina close by. To top it all off the owner, Missy, was extremely friendly and easy to get a hold of! We are already planning our trip back to Red Paddle Cove next year!! ”

“A group of 13 ladies, including myself, rented this lake house this past weekend and the property exceeded our expectations and more! The house itself is a bit tricky to get to (not everyday you drive down a dirt path!!) but well worth the drive. The interior of the house is beautifully decorated with the perfect cabin touches to really make you feel tucked away in the wilderness! The large windows bring in ample sunlight and have exquisite views of the lake! The dock was perfect for us - we tied some floats and enjoyed the sunshine. The kitchen was fully stocked for any cooking experience and we were all able to squeeze onto the large dining room table for a 'family dinner!' Would absolutely rent this property in a heartbeat. Missy was a pleasure to deal with and made the experience very easy! Thank you Missy!”

“Let me say first off that this home is the most beautiful Adirondack property I've ever seen...from the tastefully decorated interior (it feels like you are in one of the ADK furniture store showrooms) to the exquisite beach/lakefront property! We stayed for a week in the beginning of July...the weather was perfect...we fished off the dock (my five year old couldn't get enough of the "whoppers" she caught), kayaked, canoed, SUPed (our own), swam, enjoyed the mama duck and her ducklings, while safely inside watched a mama bear and her two cubs wander through the forest, and simply had the most wonderful family vacation. There is ample room in the fridge and pantry for all the food you bring...and extra space in second fridge for all you may need. I would suggest that you bring a fan in the summer for the rooms as it does get warm upstairs even with the house fan on. However, the downstairs remains cooler and more comfortable at night. One of the reasons we stayed here, among many, was that it was fairly easily accessible for a member of our group who has mobility issues. The lawn goes smoothly to the dock and water making it easy to get to and from the beach/dock for swimming. My five year old daughter loved the mini beach and walk in lake access. The owner of the property was always just a call away if we had questions about anything. It was great to meet her as well when she stopped by to say hi one evening while enjoying time on the lake with her friends and neighbors! The house is just a few minutes away from Old Forge ... an amazing little town with everything and anything you'll need to enjoy yourself from coffee shops, bars, grocery stores, mini golf, kayak rentals and excursions, a movie theater, shopping, and even a waterpark! Everything about Red Paddle Cove was spectacular and we will definitely be staying again this year as every person in our large family thoroughly enjoyed themselves from ages 3 months to 70+ years!”

“The Red Paddle Cove was perfect for our family, that includes 8 grandchildren ages 7 weeks to 9 years old) for three reasons: Location perfectly situated on Third Lake between Old Forge and Inlet; perfectly situated in a quiet cove (neighbors on both sides were away that week; and out of the wind); on a perfectly secluded road from South Shore Road to the camp on the lake with an abundance of nature: the smell of pines, deer and turkey. Red Paddle Cove is exactly across from Bald Mountain and its lookout tower the hike is more arduous the day after a good soaking, but all of us made it to the top and most of us climbed the tower. Camp itself upscale and perfectly appointed; had the number of beds and bedrooms, toilets and showers, great room (with wood burning fireplace), deck space, level grass for the kids to run around, fire pit (and wood provided!), sandy beach and walk-in lake for the youngest to splash without being worried about them, and porch for guitars and foosball, that our family needed, plus the more rustic (and quiet), second cabin my wife and I stayed in. Washer/dryer, dishwasher, two refrigerators, gas grill, and of course, a canoe and two kayaks all got used every day plus a daily appearance of loons. And, the fishing was great right off the dock we caught half dozen fish each day, from small mouth bass, to rock bass, perch and even some baby tiger muskies watch out for the little ones when the muskies are landed. Missy the proprietor. She met with my wife and I earlier in the summer to show us Red Paddle Cove PLUS gave us a personal tour of Old Forge, made suggestions about what to do and where to go. She is so energetic and genuine that she sincerely wants her guests to get the most out of their week. Her blue notebook is filled with helpful reading material and local establishments. She announced the day before that she had to come out as she needed to check on the generator very courteous and respectful. Missy is attentive and responsive, but our only need all week was a question answered over the phone. Her contract is straightforward and very fair. What better a testament than our family voting unanimously to return to Red Paddle Cove next year. If you want great location, a great camp, and a great owner, the Red Paddle Cove is the trifecta!”

“This place is absolutely stunning; the pictures do not do it justice. This is not a standard rental. The house is meticulously designed and decorated with the finest upgrades. Craftsmanship and thought has gone into every square inch of this home. The owner is very friendly and extremely helpful; she goes out of her way to be welcoming and accommodating. She went through the home and explained everything fully. She was available by phone if/when we had questions during the stay. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly want for cooking, the beds are clean and very comfortable and you are right on the lake with a great dock for swimming, boating or just hanging out. We were there with extended family, including older relatives and we just could not get over the beauty of this place. There was plenty to do for the little ones as well. Large shallow area for the kids to swim. I highly recommend this lovely lake property for your next rental, as my family and I plan on visiting every summer for years to come.”
Owner's Response
“Thanks for your glowing review Niki! It was a pleasure dealing with you and I'm so happy you and your family enjoyed your stay at Red Paddle Cove. You were our first Summer renters and I was anxious about what the condition might be when you left. I was thrilled to find that you left Red Paddle Cove in the same meticulous condition that you found it in, for that I am very grateful! Many thanks.”
