FOURTH LAKE WATERFRONT COTTAGE"CAMP NA'WAKWA"

Camp Na'wakwa ( Algonquian word meaning " In the middle of the forest " ) is a 100 year old original Adirondack cottage preserved meticulously and decorated with mostly antiques to make your stay in the mountains the perfect Adirondack family getaway. The cottage front porch is only 10 feet from the shoreline with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and Fourth lake. Private property with private dock and swimming area. . There are lake views from both the Master bedroom and the Newley … remodeled front room. The master bedroom has it's own full bath en suite Hear the waves lapping against the shoreline while falling asleep to the sound of loons on the lake each night. Watch beautiful sunsets across the lake from your dock and catch the morning sun on our front dock while drinking your coffee in our Adirondack chairs. Ample dock space next to the boathouse for docking your boat and our private cove offers excellent swimming. There are stairs with a handrail for easy access to the swimming area as well as a ladder on the dock. Enjoy the lake views from the living room with huge field stone wood burning fireplace and from the enclosed porch and dining room. Camp Nawakwa is located approximately three miles from Inlet and eight miles from Old Forge on beautiful Fourth Lake. There is a 100 yard private road ( Nepahwin Lane ) through the woods which provides access to the camp which sits on 1.2 acres of woods. Plenty of parking for 4 -5 cars and your boat and/or jet ski trailers. The master bedroom Queen size beds. The second bedroom has a queen bed , air mattress available. The front room has a Queen sofa sleeper, the camp allows a total of 7 guests. We have a 55 inch television with DVD player and a selection of DVD movies along with Netflix and Amazon Prime video streaming. There is a second full bathroom off the kitchen. There are three kayaks and a canoe for your use along with some life jackets. For appropriate sizing we suggest you bring your own life jackets. Firewood is the responsibility of renters. There is a large fire pit near the lake for campfires on starry nights. The kitchen is fully stocked and the dining room is adjacent to the kitchen. There is a second dining table on the enclosed porch. The area is filled with wildlife including deer, loons, eagles, raccoons, ducks and even the occasional moose or black bear is spotted. The boathouse has a lounging area with furniture and tables for playing games or reading during inclement weather. The lake has excellent fishing including lake trout, bass, Northern Pike and panfish. Mountain climbs and hiking trails abound and you can access Bald Mountain (with a fire tower lookout) , Rocky Mountain and Black Bear Mountain which are all within a five to ten minute drive from the camp. There is a collection of Adirondack books and assorted board games to play on rainy nights. Nearby Old Forge has an indoor theater with multiple screens and there are excellent restaurants in both Old Forge and Inlet, some also accessible by boat. Inlet's Arrowhead park has tennis courts and live music in the park on weekends in the summer. The park is only three miles from camp and can be accessed by boat as well. Spend your days cruising the entire Fulton Chain of Lakes, hiking mountains or drive a short distance to the Blue Mountain Lake Adirondack Museum to explore the history of the Adirondacks. And of course the Enchanted Forest Water Safari Park is only a 10 -15 minute drive. The scenic Thendara golf course is 15 minutes. McCauley Mountain provides a scenic chairlift to the top and hiking and mountain biking trails. The VIEW museum in Old Forge displays original artwork and offers special events for art displays.

The camp now has a Culligan water treatment system for purified water throughout the camp.
All rooms in the camp are on one level so there are no stairs for children or the elderly to climb. Also, the camp is close to the water and there are no stairs needed to reach the shoreline providing easy accessibility to the lake.
Newly added is WiFi at the camp.
Gas grill also at camp for renters use.
Camp Na'wakwa is a three season camp and not available in the winter.
