“What a beautiful house and what a perfect spot on the lake. Afternoon sunsets were just amazing. We enjoyed the peaceful tranquility of the lake from the deck and at the fire pit. Listening to the call of the Loons was such a treat. The owners of this house took such care to make sure we had everything we needed. House was very well stocked and very well cared for and clean when we arrived. We swam and fished right from the dock area, water is so clear. We also paddled the canoe around the lake and saw so much wildlife. (Osprey, Beavers, Otters). We really couldn't have found a better spot or a nicer house. And we have been all over the Adirondacks and rented many houses. Would definitely rent there again. Thank you for great vacation!”

“this house was perfect for my group of 8 plus two dogs. the kitchen has everything we needed. the deck overlooking the lake was perfect. it was gated, so easy to have the dogs out, had a table and chairs, lots of space, and perfect views and afternoon sun. the house was very family friendly, even had baby gates blocking the steps. excellent house, priced perfectly.”

“It is a pleasure to leave a positive review for this terrific rental home. The owners are a dream to work with. They were very responsive and went out of their way to ensure our satisfaction with our stay. The owners provide a well-organized binder with all the information you could ever need for handling practical things such as garbage pickup and recycling, to trail maps, restaurant menus and all kinds of information about the area. The home is wonderfully equipped with all the essential amenities. The house is spacious, easily accommodating our party of 8. The property is private and the view is spectacular. Lake Abanakee is quiet with virtually no motor boats of any kind which makes it a paddler's paradise. The location is close to the town of Indian Lake (less than 5 mins driving) and close to many great trails and other lakes and streams. We had a ball paddling in the mild rapids on the south end where the Indian River feeds in, and enjoyed peaceful tours of the quiet waters of the south end flow. Paddling north through the islands to the damn was particularly beautiful. Though there is no beach area, swimming off the dock was good and there is plenty of water frontage to pull up canoes or kayaks. We had 7 kayaks and the property has a canoe, a tandem kayak and paddle boat. We had no trouble pulling them all up on shore. The deck is spacious and the gas grill is large and convenient. I personally loved using the outdoor hot/cold shower below the deck on the ground level. What a treat! Great fire pit with plenty of chair room around it. Owners have equipped the place with many Adirondack chairs and other chairs so everyone can sit comfortably outside. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and well stocked with everything we needed for preparing delicious meals every night. We've stayed at a few different lake homes in the ADK's and this was by far the best we've had the pleasure of renting. We will definitely try to get back to Sunset Cove and would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, enjoyable, relaxing, comfortable, trouble-free stay in the central Adirondacks. Thank you to the owners for a wonderful experience!”
