Delightful views, spectacular sunsets, and quiet all await you at The Cabin on Gull Bay. This charming, rustic log cabin is located on a heavily wooded property with 100 ft. of prime Upper Saranac Lake waterfront. The Cabin features lovely rough-hewn half log walls, original knotty pine ceilings and floors, and a beautiful Adk-crafted fireplace. Renovations in 2016 include a lovely Adk-style kitchen, an 11 x 14 bedroom with queen bed, and new ba …throom with large shower. The Cabin also includes a large, 16 x 16 open sleeping loft with a queen-size bed. A new sofabed in the large living room provides additional sleeping options.
The Cabin sits only 30 feet from the waterfront. A 32-foot long front porch, with four traditional ADK chairs, overlooks the waterfront and is the ideal place to enjoy the gorgeous views and beauty of this spectacular lake. Situated in the middle of Gull Bay, the widest part of Upper Saranac Lake, the views look west to Doctors Island, Deer Island, and Eagle Island. The waterfront includes a dock with two Adk chairs for relaxation, swimming, and launching a canoe or a kayak. A swim dock is also in the lake for use of guests. Please note there is no docking available for powerboats.
There is also a second small (10 x 12') finished cabin on the property that is ideal for card playing, puzzles, or reading and relaxing. And a separate small storage cabin holds waterfront items such as canoe and kayak paddles, water floats for the lake, and extra garage and recycling cans.
An outdoor fire pit, with plenty of firewood, is a great place for night time s'mores or storytelling.
Includes 2 canoes, a tandem kayak, and two single kayaks.

About Us: After vacationing with our children in the Northern Adirondacks for many years, we purchased a Camp on Upper Saranac Lake in 2014 and are now year-round residents on the Lake.
Why we think you will enjoy staying in Upper Saranac Lake: Upper Saranac Lake is 8 miles long and up to a mile wide in some sections, with many side bays for easy exploring by kayak and canoe. It's tranquil and has one of the largest loon populations in the Adirondacks (38 on average). The lake has relatively little boat traffic, and less still jet-ski activity. The water is among the cleanest in the Adirondacks, ideal for swimming and fishing.
Why our property is special: Property is in the woods on the most beautiful and quiet part of Upper Saranac Lake, with 100 feet of private shoreline.

“This was a great week, perhaps my favorite in all the years we've been going to the Adirondacks. My wife and I stayed in this immaculate and beautiful cabin, making excursions out almost all of those days to hike easy/moderate mountains or kayak close-by rivers, as well as a couple of great kayak trips launched directly on the lake. Plenty of space to hang out after-- there's a very stable dock with a couple of chairs, and a nice porch with a few more. The weather was beautiful during our visit, but I note the cabin is quite spacious so being stuck inside would not have been a problem. We stayed in the very comfortable bedroom downstairs, but there's also a great loft space for a second couple. There are lots of little amenities that together make for a big improvement in quality-of-life; for example, the washer/dryer in the cabin means you don't have to drive thirty minutes to a laundromat (been there) or search for the least dirty thing to wear at the end of your week (been there too), extensive indoor lighting helps if it's a gloomy day and a heater easily deals with the 40-ish night. The only negative I can think of is that as you might suspect, there's no trash service, so you do have to plan a day which includes a garbage run. Overall, this is a jewel and kudos to the owners.”

“Greatly enjoyed our week at the camp on Gull Bay! A beautiful spot on Upper Saranac which offered gorgeous sunsets, pristine waters for swimming and kayaking and a relaxing camp atmosphere. While we like to explore the many delights in the High Peaks of the ADKs, we made sure to be back to the Cabin in time to enjoy cocktails on the deck, swimming and a little fishing. Also appreciated the write-up of the history of Gull Bay, fascinating! Many thanks to our hosts for a lovely week in one of our favorite places.”

“The setting of this cabin is absolutely spectacular, especially at sunset. My husband, adult son and I spent a week enjoying the peacefulness of Upper Saranac Lake, watching and listening to the loons, paddling on the lake and swimming in the clear water. The cabin is charming and comfortable; the porch overlooking the lake is just the place for morning coffee. A perfect, private escape. ”

“My husband and I had an idyllic ADK vacation staying here. The location on the lake is spectacular with excellent swimming and gorgeous views of the High Peaks from a short boat ride off on the water. The cabin is beautifully updated and comfortable with many enticing areas to sit and enjoy coffee, a drink, a book or a chat. The cozy red kitchen is perfect and the drinking water from the well delicious. We swam, hiked and boated everyday, enjoyed walking on the trails at the Paul Smith VIC and watching sunsets and the moonlit lake from the dock or covered porch in the evenings. It was great!”

“stayed at "the cabin on gull bay" for a week and it was fantastic. right on saranac lake. the owners did a beautiful job rebuilding a small cabin into something special for a single, couple or family. serene and peaceful, i spent long stretches of time sitting on the front deck, smoking cigars, reading. swam and canoed in the lake. played golf at two nice mountain courses. the cabin is a long way from the main road so you always have to include an extra 10 minutes into a drive to anywhere, but that is my only small complaint. the owners were next door, and promptly replied to any questions i had. i will be going back.”
Owner's Response
“We loved having you Steven and Robin! Come anytime.”
