The Greatstone compound has four residences, each rented separately: the five bedroom five bath main lodge, called the "Big Camp" or "Greatstone," and three smaller buildings - the Stone Cottage (bedroom&bath only), and the one-bedroom Near and Far Cottages with small kitchens and screened porches. Greatstone Lodge and Cottages are situated in a lovely spot on Long Lake, with 1,000 feet of private lake front, a gradual sandy swimming be …ach, a boat dock separate from the swimming area, and acres of forest for exploring. Fire pits and a lean-to provide evening campfire fun.

The Long Lake region is bursting with outdoor activities. In addition to swimming, fishing, and boating on our 14-mile lake, nearby Adirondack Mountain hiking trails are plentiful. A short drive brings you to Buttermilk Falls, Santanoni Preserve, the Adirondack Museum, and the Wild Center. Lake Placid is one hour away. A Long Lake boat tour brings you to the north end of the lake, with miles of untouched wilderness and spectacular views of the high peaks.

- The BIG CAMP is a five-bedroom, five-bath early 20th century bungalow which sleeps 12. All but one bedroom and bath are on the main floor. The dining room features a large cobblestone fireplace and seats up to 18 people. The spacious living room with piano has a wood stove insert in the cobblestone fireplace. Plenty of board games are provided. The kitchen is outfitted with simple amenities, including a dishwasher and wood-burning stove. And the expansive front porch is perfect for relaxing and visiting while enjoying the lake and mountains, loons, and the stars. Two picnic tables near the kitchen door provide seating for outdoor dining and cookouts.
- Bedroom configurations in the Big Camp are:
Bedroom 1: Lakeside - two twin beds, bathroom with tub,
Bedroom 2: Master - king bed and collapsible day bed, en suite bathroom with tub,
Bedroom 3: Rockside - two twin beds, bathroom with tub,
Bedroom 4: "Maid's Room" - double bed, bathroom with shower,
Bedroom 5: "Upstairs" - four twin beds and one extra mattress, bathroom with tub.

- The STONE COTTAGE is a lovely one-bedroom sleeping cottage next to the Big Camp. It has a king bed (can be separated into two twins), a seating area with small table, and a small bathroom with shower. No kitchen, just a mini refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker. Sleeps two, plus has a cot for a child.

The two red cottages, the NEAR and FAR, are shingled camps with screened porches - cozy, quaint, and clean. They are just beyond the Big Camp and also overlook Long Lake.
- The NEAR COTTAGE is a one story structure. It has a living room with a queen pull-out futon, a small kitchen, one bedroom with a queen and a twin bed, and a bathroom with a tub/shower. Sleeps 2-3.
- The FAR COTTAGE has two stories. Upstairs is a bedroom with a queen and a twin bed. Downstairs is the small kitchen, small living room with single pull-out futon, and bathroom with shower stall. Sleeps 2-3.

NOTES:
- NO WASHER/DRYER at Greatstone. We use the laundromat at the Trading post, a couple of miles away, or drop off laundry at the Washboard in Tupper for overnight service.
- CELL PHONE use at Greatstone - Reception is excellent for Verizon and ATT carriers. (Not good for T-mobile)
- CABLE TV - No cable tv in Long Lake.
- WIFI - We currently have no wifi at Greatstone (will advise if this changes). Guests use smart phones for "hot spots." Also trips to town for round the clock wifi outside the library, as well as at Hoss's Ice Cream stand and the Long Lake Diner.
