During the Winter Season, the cottage is in a prime location for snowmobiling. Located in the village of Inlet, there is access to Trail #5 and to the lake. Restaurants and village winter activities are only a short distance away.

In the Summer Season, with its wonderful location and large picture w …indows, the Highland Cottage boasts beautiful views of the beach and sunset at the east end of Fourth Lake. See Availability and Rate Schedule.

The Cottage has 3 levels, with 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, living room, family room, an office area, a fully equipped large kitchen with peninsula, laundry, large newly added dining room with picture windows and view of the lake, gazebo porch off dining room, covered patio. It also has a private dock, sandy beach, picnic table, gas grill, fire pit, TV, and WiFi internet access. It sleeps a maximum of 10. Additional people with an extra fee. There is no smoking in the house, and no pets are permitted.

Built in the first quarter of the 1900's as the boathouse for The Highland Lodge (VR6711), it was moved to its current location next to The Highland Lodge and expanded to a cottage sometime after 1922. Although completely renovated in 2000, the two bedrooms upstairs that once faced the lake retain the original wainscot paneling and offer a glimpse of the history of this charming cottage.

The Highland Cottage is conveniently located on the shore of Fourth Lake in a private, wooded area within 250 yards from center of the village of Inlet.

Both The Highland Cottage (VR8008) and The Highland Lodge (VR6711) are available for rent separately or together based on availability and offer a special opportunity for families to gather for vacations, anniversaries, reunions, and weddings. Highland Lodge link:

Rental Money: 50% of the rental rate is due 6 months prior to your arrival date. The remaining balance is due 60 days prior to your arrival.

Cancellation Policy- If you cancel within 6 months of your arrival date, we will do our best to rebook the home for the same timeframe. If we are able to rebook your home, you will receive your security deposit plus any rental paid less $250 cancellation fee. If we are unable to rebook your home all rental money paid will be forfeited.

If you decide to cancel your reservation, we will try to rent your week. If we're successful, we'll return the paid balance minus $100 admin fee. If we are unable to do so, you will forfeit the rental payment.

Cleaning Policy: This is a housekeeping camp. The property is cleaned and sanitized before every renter. When you leave, it is expected the house be back in the same condition as it was found: dishes washed and put away, beds made, furniture put back in position, refrigerator and stove cleaned, and all trash removed and taken to the Inlet Recycling Center. Please leave the house broom swept and please treat it as you would your own.
Linen Policy: Bed linens and towels are not provided. Each bedroom is equipped with pillows, blankets, and quilts. Renters are responsible for bringing their own sheets and towels.
Security Deposit Information: There is a $500 security deposit summer and fall season. $2000 winter seasonal rental.
